On the other hand, I feel like we've spent so much time in New York in the MCU that it would be nice to go elsewhere.

That trailer looked really good! I’m more excited for this than I was for the first one.
I’ll go against the grain and say the one thing that looked off was Jake Gyllenhaal. He just looked out of place.
And I really don’t care where this movie lands in the timeline. I’m guessing before Infinity War but it doesn’t really matter.

So is the gist of the plot Mysterio conjuring up phony threats to then vanquish them in front of everybody so that he can earn trust- and then use that trust to a nefarious end?

I really thought that with the title Far From Home that it would deal with the aftermath of what comes from the end of the next Avengers movie, along with Spider-Man trying to make his way home. I did read last year that this movie is supposed to take place like ten minutes after Endgame is over.

Okay, the International Trailer makes this one look a lot better.
It's a nice break not to have the film be super serious or about the end of the world.

I didn't like Homecoming that much mainly because I hated all of the side characters, and this doesn't look like it's going to downplay any of them(friggin Ned). Also not a fan of him going to a different country since it seems like a lame gimmick. But it was cool seeing Mysterio, Sandman and Hydro(hope they aren't just creations of Mysterio though).

A lot better? Other then the intro bit of Happy/May vs Peter's luggage and the change in Flash calling Peter a loser at the end, aren't they basically the same?

^ and the “dickwad” response was the best thing in the trailer.

The end bit explains that Mysterio is "the new hero" and not just some new villain. And this is my first time seeing Flash doing his hero worship while picking on Parker. I still haven't seen Homecoming.
But I prefer the music in the international trailer and the luggage bit. Not a big deal, but it seemed to make it seem even more light hearted.
Jake Gyllenhaal finally got to be in a Spider-man movie.
I always thought he would have made the ideal adult Peter Parker.

I just don't get this "but they are dead how can they have another movie coming!" stuff I see online. It's like they've never a) seen a movie and/or b) read a comic book before.

I must have stopped watching the first trailer after Spider-man logo.

The poster has a stamp on it for Berlin - 24 July 19.
The passport issue does kind of fuck with things. If he got one in 2016 when he went to Germany for Civil War, why would he need a new one so soon? Maybe he lost it? Unless that scene isn't actually in the movie and it was just for the trailer to add context. Maybe it is just a complete oversight by the filmmakers and Sony. Especially with how they screwed it with the "8 Years Later" title card in Homecoming. Marvel released an official timeline that says it was actually 4 years later.
It could be possible if/when a timeline is reset in Endgame, that this film could technically "take place" before IW, as in IW never happened. It would also work into how "Far From Home" has "multiple meanings."

I don’t know if the date on the poster means anything.
It might just be part of the art, and they didn’t want to put a date that wasn’t close to the release date that might confuse people.

Happy makes the comment that Peter is "alone now", which I take to mean is Stark is lost in space for the duration (at least a couple movie phases till the character is brought back)
