I thought it was, but I forget sometimes DV label on my info pop up doesn’t automatically mean it’s in 4K. Forgot I was watching on my Apple TV 4K. Turned it on my cast input, which doesn’t do upscaling, and it defining is only 1080p. That’s strange, my apologies for making that assumption.

Trailer looks decent, but this can't be very good if they're just giving it away all of the sudden. I don't see how Netflix makes money off of stuff like this.

I think the idea that Netflix could start dropping sequels to successful franchises without warning is something that could drive subscriptions.

We are almost finished with it and I'm not sure what to think. Glad that I didn't have to go to the theater to watch it.

I liked it. A worth addition to the Cloverfield Universe but not like the other two. I would like a straight up monster movie though.

Just finished it. Not impressed at all. The "link" to Cloverfield was tenuous at best, out of nowhere, too, that's for sure. Bummer.

Just finished it. It was ok. Nothing special. Nice effects and I did get a bit of the Event Horizon vibe, but definitely watchable. I guess this one takes place before Cloverfield 1, right? I'm still looking forward to part 4 in the fall, though.

Yeah... This one won't age well. It was okay, with a few good parts. Lots of bad stuff, though.

I wonder how much of a ratings loss NBC experience from this? They must be pissed off at Netflix if they lost a good chunk of people to switch over after the game.

Half the viewers probably switch off the game during the post game anyway. Plus, didn't they have a big episode of This is Us after the game too? That should pull in viewers.

Yeah, there was a big episode of This is Us which probably kept a lot of viewers plus on top of that there was a special Sunday episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon which featured the cast as well as The Rock after the local news aired. I don’t watch (I’ve seen parts of a couple episodes here and there with my parents) but I know This is Us is a pretty popular show.

I'm kind of glad that Netflix is finally around to keep dreck like this away from theaters, which increasingly seems to be their modus operandi. When I think back to all the similarly sub-par-to-awful studio misfires I paid good money to see over the decades, it's good to know there's finally a direct dumping ground for this stuff that will protect the wallets of those who still enjoy the theatrical experience. Mind you, I think most audiences are savvy enough these days that they might've stayed away from this in theaters anyway, especially with its troubled production history so readily available.

Oh man, this was bad bad bad. It was painfully obvious where they shoehorned Cloverfield into this super generic sci-fi movie, and fuck I hated just about every second of it.
This trash should've stayed on the shelf. The minute and a half of the next season of Westworld was far more entertaining than a lot of these recent sci-fi offerings, like this, Star Trek, and Altered Carbon.

It's not clearly stated what time period they were in. Maybe it'll get cleared up when the 4th film opens later this year.

Seems these days anyone and their mother can make a low-budget sci-fi/horror/genre picture and have it retconned by desperate studios/streamers into an existing "franchise" by adding a few scenes or lines of dialogue. The possibilities are seemingly endless and sad.
