Agreed. Not everything is Marvel. And they need to stop treating all their properties as such, as they learned with Star Wars. But, they can't go back to sub $2bil annual BO totals anymore. They aren't giving that up.

I think if the story is right, it would work and unlike SW, these are all different worlds and stories unconnected. As for Aladdin, it's something they haven't done before and it brings diversity to their slate, so it's all new. Dumbo looks incredible. AiW was kinda meh, but made a boatload of money, same with Beauty and the Beast. I haven't seen Jungle Book to comment. And we'll see what the changes to Mulan and Hunchback will bring. I'd prefer they go with some of their lessor known properties before remaking their bigger hits into live action.

It's not that I don't think they should do live action remakes. I really don't care. It's that I don't think they should be releasing three in one year. It's going to be overkill. They should be spaced out. These aren't just dumb IPs. These are legendary Disney properties.

That's why I wish they would concentrate on the lesser known properties. The Sword and the Stone, Black Cauldron, Emperor's New Groove, etc.

Yeah, one per year at most would be better. I also think it would be better not going right to their most beloved films right away. They kind of had the right idea initially doing older films like The Jungle Book and Cinderella.

Now they’re dipping into their modern classics which I think could have waited a while. Like if they had done just Dumbo this year would have been better. It’s not one of their most loved films, but is still a recognizable film that could use an update. I just feel like they’re going to wear out the novelty of these way fast.

C'mon guys. They have to rush these out if they want to make a Kingdom Hearts movie a reality!

I'm a bit excited for Mulan tbh, but this Aladdin live-action I've been fearful of since the casting and the trailers have done nothing to alleviate those fears.

lol at the comment above. Actually I wouldn't mind a Kingdom Hearts animated film, but it'd probably just further the convoluted mess it calls a story.

This has become one of the most intriguing train wrecks of the year.

It would be impressive if it actually bombed harder than King Arthur. It's Disney, so it most likely won't, but this looks pretty bad.

And I was being facetious.

That looks really bad. Almost looks TV quality...like it is the next season of Once Upon a Time...

I can't believe Disney will practically reshoot an entire Star War movies with a new director, but will release a subpar live action version of one of their most beloved properties. I got to think there is something here...

Smith looks like just his normal self instead of blue like he is as the Genie on that poster. Kinda strange.

I mean, it doesn't look god awful but I just thoroughly don't like the way it was shot. And I can't put my finger on it, but the lighting just looks lazy - it's like playing Assassin's Creed with Shadows turned off.

He shows up in human form in the trailer too.

It looks so flat and overexposed. Like and ABC Studios TV production.

That's a fair assessment. It's like a $200m pilot episode.

It does feel a bit like a TV movie. Going by the samplings in the trailer I’m not a fan of the music either. Obviously it’s all the same songs, but the actors singing them don’t sound very good.

Ok it does look better than the Teaser. The leads look like they have potential, tehy show more emotions than Emma Watson on the whole Beauty & The Beast movie. Smith doesn't bother as much anymore either. Jafar does sound terrible

I thought that was 100x better than the awful teaser. I think Genie is fine, the prince joke got a decent laugh from me. I still don't see that guy as Jafar though. I don't know if it's his look or his voice, but he just doesn't seem intimidating at all.

Prince of Persia meets Kazaam/Hitch. Ok.

Naomi Scott looks hot, but other than that...
