I'm still not sure if I can buy Pratt in a dramatic role. He always looks like he's a second away from busting out a one-liner.

I've seen the first trailer a crap ton of times over the past two months. Don't know if I can take another . This movie has become a lot like The Revenant last year in that I want it released just so I can stop seeing trailers for it.

Guess I'm lucky. I don't watch shit that promotes many ads.

I don't know about this one.
Lots of digital effects and robots and spaceships and cryo-tubes and shit like that are usually a sure fire way to get me to see your movie, but this just looks...dull, maybe? Generic? I can't quite put my finger on it, but nothing I've seen so far is really grabbing me yet.

I think 2001 is the only clean space environment thing that is good. I can't think of many.

I think there something about that super sterile, overly white, sci-fi environment in some of these movies that give them a sort of generic look. I felt the same way about Oblivion (which I ended up liking). Sci-fi flicks that have that dirty, lived-in appearance look a lot more interesting to me most of the time, even knowing nothing about the plot, aesthetically they just look better, IMO.

Good point, I don't know why Hollywood even tries anymore.

I never even knew this movie existed until I got an email today from Sony pitching rewards points (Sony Card), followed a link in it to a trailer, watched the trailer for the movie, now I'm really intrigued. Came here and found a thread for it started in September, didn't know anything about it. I think the movie title threw me, I was expecting something entirely different than a scifi movie. It looks like it might be pretty good, I'm in for it...

I am surprised this is coming out the Weds after star wars.
I know this might skew slightly more toward women since it has Lawrence, but it still is sci-fi.

the trailers have looked awful
seems like a classic big budget idea, lets get two big stars in space it will make zillions
