Wow, looks like someone is trying to improve Suicide Squad's Rotten Tomatoes score by including positive reviews from OTHER movies.

Re: Suicide Squad (Ayer, 2016) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Leto doesn't sound happy about all the Joker scenes being cut.

Jared Leto put a lot of work into developing his Joker character in “Suicide Squad,” but fans will not be seeing much of it on the big screen.

Half-way through the film, Joker’s helicopter crashes, and he doesn’t resurface until the final scene. When asked by IGN what happened, Leto responded, “That’s a good question.”

“I have no idea,” he said. “I think he probably went and had a drink or something. Stretched – once you get blown up in a helicopter your muscles get a little tight.”

While Leto initially seemed calm, his poker face went away when asked if he was upset about the scenes being cut.

“Were there any that didn’t get cut? I’m asking you, were there any that didn’t get cut? There were so many scenes that got cut from the movie, I couldn’t even start,” he said. “If I die anytime soon, it’s probably likely that it’ll surface somewhere. That’s the good news about the death of an actor is all that stuff seems to come out.”

Such a mess of a film. If I enjoyed anything, I really enjoyed both Viola Davis & Margot Robbie's performances.

I'm not even sure what Ayers was attempting here (as he was the sole Writer & Director on this). The editing is strange and choppy, made worse with flashbacks and dream sequences. The plot is razor thin and (as mentioned by others), everyone else in the film feels ridiculously under-developed.

The film also felt like someone gave Ayers a copy of Guardians of the Galaxy, and in a drunken haze, he tried to re-create what he thought worked well in the film, except making everything looks sloppy and forced.

Shit! With as impatient as WB has been around these DC movies I think we should consider ourselves lucky that they didn't release Suicide Squad 2 before Suicide Squad.

All the talk/hype about his crazy method acting and behind the scene antics only to get "Terrence Malicked."

The entire end sequence with Enchantress and her brother. Looked like something out of The Mummy Returns.

Probably because Leto's joker sucked balls. I thought Robbies did a fantastic job playing someone who's crazy and just wanted to have fun at heart. Leto's joker wasn't least bit fun. Joker suppose to laugh at almost everything. Leto seems to think laughing devalues him.

Well, Leto sure didn't. I was specifically watching for it since during one of the interviews Leto made a huge deal out of how he was so serious in method act joker's laugh. His sounded like a little girl just got a barbie doll for her christmas. Terrible.......all the way around. I'm glad his scenes were cut.

So you're glad they were cut? You're the one complaining that he didn't do this and that. Make up your mind.

Should be grim, bitter, and as horrifyingly alluring as Hannibal Lecter. But it's nothing but a teen-friendly ad for toys, Tees, and other disposable merch.

I'm not at all understanding all the RT hate for this flick. I saw last night and it was one of the more enjoyable movie trips I've had in awhile.

No fucking shit. Everytime I see a "saves me $20" post I'm glad I don't live there.

Havent seen it yet, but several friends have. They are super critical of films and hated MOS and BVS but liked this. That has me optimistic.

Looking at a $140 weekend so far.

CinemaScore crowds under 35 gave Suicide Squad an A-, while 76% females gave it an A-. The pic also earned an A with the under 18 demo (28%).

$140!?! Damn. Only seven people living near $20 per ticket theaters went to see it? Warner Bros. is going to go bankrupt.

I'm sure NC is a better option than L.A.

$20 for the family (3 people) to see it at the bargain matinee...

And that's what I'll save since this sounds like a disappointing movie at best. (I'm not surprised since the trailers made this look like a hollow movie with nothing of substance, intelligence, or wit.)

‘Suicide Squad’ Heads For Record-Breaking $145 Million Plus Opening Weekend

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - “Suicide Squad” is dominating the U.S. box office, heading for around $147 million in opening weekend ticket sales at 4,255 locations.

The massive opening weekend numbers shatter the previous record for August openings set by “Guardians of the Galaxy” when it earned $94.3 million in 2014. The Warner Bros. tentpole is shaking up a summer of disappointing box office performances with about $65 million in sales as of Saturday morning.

A while back there was a thread were I maintained that the traditional ideas about dead times at the box office were no longer valid. That we are at a point were massive crowds will turn out any time of year, so a popcorn/action movies can be released all year long, not just in a 3 month window.

This is a Saturday morning "I told you so."

Yeah, I read that the Flash/Boomerang scene was a composite. Ayer filmed Boomerang and Snyder filmed the Flash part and they just combined the footage.
