Out of nowhere, Katja’s life falls apart when her husband Nuri and little son Rocco are killed in a bomb attack. Her friends and family try to give her the support she needs, and Katja somehow manages to make it through the funeral. But the mind numbing search for the perpetrators and reasons behind the senseless killing complicate Katja’s painful mourning, opening wounds and doubts. Danilo, a lawyer and Nuri’s best friend, represents Katja in the eventual trial against the two suspects: a young couple from the neo-Nazi scene. The trial pushes Katja to the edge, but there’s simply no alternative for her: she wants justice.

Tried to watch tonite.
It's slooooow, too melodramatic, and predictable IMO.
Watching Diane Kruger tear up and look sad in every scene and smoke and smoke and smoke and smoke nearly put me to sleep.
Lasted an hour before I hit the EJECT button.

Not a feel good movie but Krueger should have gotten an Oscar nomination and I would not mind more Krueger and Fatih Akin collaborations.

I thought this was great. Kruger was on another level in this one. Amazing. Definitely should've been nominated for an Oscar. Worth seeing for her performance alone.

Krueger definitely did not glam up and went mostly make-up free for this role which might disappoint most guys.

It probably would've made my favorites list last year if I saw it in 2017.
