Exactly, they laid a trap for internet outrage to get people talking about Bond 25 and it worked like a charm.

There’s no way Bond will be replaced on the down-low by an unknown actress. There’s going to be months of debate and Hollywood gossip with big name actors’ names being mentioned for consideration when Craig finally steps down as Bond. It won’t be a hush hush decision.
I think Brosnan was a pretty popular choice (ironically, he wound up being my least-favorite of those four)...but I remember a pretty positive response to his casting, since he'd been talked about as the perfect choice for Bond for many years.

It really is a lot like comic books. Yeah, there was a VERY soft reboot with Brosnan, and a harder reboot with Craig, but in both cases it's supposed to be the same guy, just in a different timeline/time period. It really is that simple. Don't try to make it more complicated than it needs to be.

The MAN is still the same, but the time in which his missions take place changes.
I think that the idea way to view Bond is to use the sliding timeline that Marvel Comics uses, where everything that happened in the past actually happened, but the further back you go, the vaguer it gets, and the whole thing always started (within its own continuity) seven years ago.

So you can watch Goldfinger and OHMSS as taking place in the 1960s, and then watch License to Kill, and understand that the events of those films still took place, though only a few years ago, and maybe not exactly as depicted. Which sort of makes each film a standalone story, but still part of a larger, fluid tapestry.

Though the Craig Bonds would seem to be a hard reboot, though Dench muddies things up a bit.

Good for them in getting people to not want to see it. That's some brilliant fucking marketing for a movie.

People just want something to rage about, I guess.

No kidding. I understand outrage over tearing down a classic old building - then it's totally gone and probably replaced by something bland and souless. You'll never be able to visit it again.

If you don't want to see Bond 25, just...don't see it. All of the other Bond movies still exist, ready to watch. I have never understood the literal anger at a movie franchise. Star Wars actually makes some sense because you cannot watch the original anymore (like the building example) but that's the only one that really stands out as at least a little understandable.

It is just more of the train-wreck that this is becoming. Starting with the star. I will see it at home vs. the theater. That will be the difference. I have no real anger over it just probable disappointment over the finished product. When things like this happen with a movie usually it turns out that the finished product is not good. I will know more when I see it. All reports so far are not promising to me and sounds like it will be one of the lessor Bond films. But if what you are hearing about it has you stoked; great.

I am no longer interested in Idris Elba as future James Bond after I just witnessed him dressed up as a furry cat, dancing and prancing around.

No Time To Die? That's generic but okay I guess. It's what the third Bond with Die in the title?

Finally. A very Bond-ish title.

It sounds like a fitting Bond title to me. I’m fine with it.

I would've liked something a little more obtuse (in the classic Bond sense) like No Time Left to Die.

I can't help but reminded of Predator by that title.

At least it's not called Bond 25 anymore.

Now I wonder if they will commission someone to write the opening credit sequence song as "No Time to Die" or something else.

Eh, they could just use the word "time" and that would be good enough.

Classic if unoriginal title. It'll do.

There's also variations of this title in the post-Fleming novels...

Nobody Lives for Ever
Win, Lose or Die
Death is Forever
Never Dream of Dying

it does seem like a very fitting title and if Craig's last, then would be nice send off...especially if movie is good. Not Spectre bad, but Casino Royale and Skyfall great.
