Since when are we still calling China "the Middle Kingdom"?

Hollywood reporting sites have been doing it since Hollywood started catering to Chinese filmgoers.

I finally realized what I don’t like about the title. It sounds like one of the bad Die Hard sequels.

This is all just hilarious. What a cursed production. Let's get Cary back for True Detective season 4.

...I'd take a Maniac season 2 while we're at it. Anthology style.

And yet Terry Gilliam wishes his productions went as smoothly as this one.

I mean this isn't a production issue. The movie is in the can. This is a distribution concern only, and not one based on the quality of the film itself.

“We have to delay the movie because the people we made it for are sick and if we let the rest of the world see it first the people we made it for will pirate the movie and never pay to see it.”

”Sound strategy.”

I mean, they couldn't release it really in Italy, China, South Korea, Japan, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, or Netherlands right now either.

Oh FFS. What happened to movies being two hours? I didn't like Specter because I thought it was way longer than it needed to be (and thought overall it was a mediocre movie).

Still a little shocked this was delayed, as (from what I've heard) the disease is still in it's early stages and is only going to get worse. While I'm sure it will still do better financially being released during the holiday season, I still think the virus will just be worse at that point and theatergoers will still probably stay away...Who knows, I guess, but it seems like every day I hear about another state experiencing an outbreak of some sort, along with sports cancelling events and whatnot...

If for some reason things do get extremely worse and theatres shut down or this continues for months on end... do they just hold all the blockbusters or do they just release them on demand for like $30 bucks?

I don't think NATO would want that, but it's not like there's much choice.

I agree. It fucks the theatres for sure. But there comes a point where these studios need ROI. And it’s not like someone like a Disney is going to hold onto 12+ films.

That's what I think will happen. Not every movie, but so many people just stay home and watch Netflix anyway that I just think that's the best option, given the situation...

I heard they were going to change the title to something more “dangerous”:

No Time to *cough*cough*

Sad to think we would have all seen this this weekend, if it weren't for the pandemic. Sigh
