That may be but before Craig there was Brosnan. He made a good Bond but boy did that series of films go off the rails!

Strictly from a performance perspective I like Brosnan way more, he can pull of the charm and wit, while still selling the action scenes. Yeah Brosnan got stuck with some bad scripts but Craig just seems miserable in the role. And the darker, more serious tone is surely the producers wishes, who want to emulate what was popular in 2000 era action movies.

Now that the Marvel movies are so successful, I am really hoping they decide it's ok for Bond movies to be fun again.

Our Production Designer/Artful master of living for the day, Mark Tildesley— commented to me once that being a director must feel like dying of a thousand cuts, because of the constant stream of questions one must field. There’s not a minute on this job that isn’t scheduled, and even during a shoot day, in the hours before call, between takes and setups, and after we wrap there’s always a line of dedicated and hard working department heads hungry to prep our next sequences, no one sleeps on this kind of job. So sure it’s hard, but it’s still the best job in the world and I’d never disrespect the hardest working cast and crew. We’re all in this together. As for my PS4 relationship, if my RDR2 progress is any indication, it’s been stunted at 63% for months and if anyone spoils the end for me before I wrap on B25 I’m going to be pissed.

I thought Casino Royale was lots of fun without being silly or over the top. Skyfall was pretty good except for the weird ending. I was very disappointed by SPECTRE. I haven't seen Quantum of Solace yet.

I see even on set they don't even have a name for the movie yet and are just calling it B25.

Now I wonder who's the one that will come up with the name? Broccoli and Wilson? The writers or the studio?

I loved Casino Royale the first time I saw it but it doesn't hold up on repeat viewings. After they get rid of Mads the third act really drags. If you're making an action movie that's 2.5 hours long it needs to be really good to hold my attention. I actually like Quantum of Solace, it's dumb, but it is entertaining and breezes by. Spectre has the worst elements of both films, long and dumb.

I totally get the love for Casino Royale but I didn't buy the love story with Craig and Green, it had been done all ready in On Her Majesty's Secret Service and that moment felt more like a gut punch.

I think Craig’s best Bond film is Skyfall personally. It’s felt the most fun so far and I feel like he gave a pretty good performance. The rest of his films are pretty mixed. Casino Royale is good for some of the action (namely the chase sequence involving the scaffolding/construction area), but the story was a bit boring to me.

That was super-weird. Like a proof-of-life photo. Was it trying to show us that Craig is actually making this without a gun being pointed at his head?

While it's my favorite Bond film.. I mean ninjas dammit! I always laugh at surgically making hairy, thick accented Bond a Japanese fisherman.

Is it true that Grace Jones was supposed to be in this until she saw how small her role was and left the set?

Lashana Lynch To Take Over James Bond's Iconic 007 Code Name

For the past few years, fans and critics have been debating whether we will ever see a female James Bond.

Now according to reports, we could be a step closer to seeing just that as it's been claimed British actor Lashana Lynch is set to take over the spy's iconic code name, 007, in the forthcoming Bond 25.

Speaking to the Mail On Sunday, a film insider has revealed the 31-year-old will be introduced during a 'pivotal' scene - but fans of the franchise needn't worry, James Bond will still be there.

They said: "There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says, 'Come in 007,' and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman.

"It's a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he's been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.

"Bond, of course, is sexually attracted to the new female 007 and tries his usual seduction tricks, but is baffled when they don't work on a brilliant, young black woman who basically rolls her eyes at him and has no interest in jumping into his bed. Well, certainly not at the beginning."

But that's not all - the insider also told the publication that the term 'Bond girl' is now strictly forbidden.

They added: "We were all told that from now on they are to be addressed as 'Bond women'."

Lashana has recently been seen in blockbuster superhero flick Captain Marvel, playing the superhero's close friend and fellow pilot Maria Rambeau.

The secret inside source said: "Lashana is absolutely brilliant and Phoebe's script is as sharp and funny as you would expect. This Bond pays tribute to some of the earlier films with a lot of humour.

"This is a Bond for the modern era who will appeal to a younger generation while sticking true to what we all expect in a Bond film,' the source added. 'There are spectacular chase sequences and fights, and Bond is still Bond but he's having to learn to deal with the world of #MeToo."

The as-yet-untitled new Bond movie has been written by Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge - who was brought in to help keep the saga relevant.

She said: "There's been a lot of talk about whether or not Bond is relevant now because of who he is and the way he treats women.

"I think that's b******s. I think he's absolutely relevant now. [The franchise] has just got to grow. It has just got to evolve, and the important thing is that the film treats the women properly. He doesn't have to. He needs to be true to his character."

If the story is good and the production is first rate, it'll be entertaining no matter "what" plays 007. Although I bet the villians will now be relegated to white males.

Stop putting feminists in creative positions for male dominated franchises. They don't care about the property, the fans and only believe we have no right to anything culturally that appeals solely to us anymore. There are you happy.

This is ridiculous. Just create a spinoff so it can fail on it's own.

You know there are people in Hollywood who don't want any white male dominated movies to be made anymore.

Never mind letting the market decide.

I've always said make movies for everyone, start a Bond spinoff with Idris Elba as 009. Have a female led 00 movie. But don't change James Bond. He is who he is.

Maybe it's to pave the way for Idris Elba.
