I have a hard time seeing him as Bond too, but maybe that's just because i'm used to seeing the "rougher" looking Craig. Sounds like I should check out the Night Manager.

Hiddleston eh? Wouldn't be my 1st choice, or 2nd, but I think he could be good and I'm OK with it. At least it's not Elba. I can't wait for Supermallet's butthurt reaction to Elba not getting the role and how big a tragedy it is

I had a hard time seeing Craig after Brosnan so I'll give Hiddleston a shot. Hopefully they get Martin Campbell to direct his first movie...

Yeah that's true I suppose. It always is sort of an odd transition when a character is recast after getting used to someone in a role for a while. I think with Hiddleston though it also comes from me placing him in other roles like Loki that it just seems odd thinking of him as Bond.

Sam Mendes is done with the Bond series.
Also, treat the Hiddleston report I posted earlier as a rumor as of right now. Definitely not official by any means.

Awwww, gee, what a shame. And after he delivered one of the most overrated films in the franchise before following it up with a completely dead entry. Too bad he won't be able to cap off his trilogy of mediocrity.

Agree about Mendes, even though I know i'm in the minority with Skyfall. Really didn't care for both of his entries.

I like all of Craig's Bonds, although the Something of Boris was most definitely a lesser effort. I'm sad to see him leave, and I know I'm in the minority to this. I was hoping for one last one with him, but oh well.

I'm guessing auto correct, but sounds like it would make an awesome bond spoof title

Considering the world we live in today and the way Hollywood is either organically introducing diversity into major tentpole films (or whether they are shoehorning it in), it honestly wouldn't surprise me if they cast someone who wasn't white.
I see Bond more as British/European than I do as white. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Idris Elba landed the gig. ( I know its already been speculated a lot, but I think the odds of it happening are probably much greater than most people expect.)
Whether its a Black Bond, Gay Bond, Female Bond or a Gay, Black, Female Curling Champion Bond from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, my money is on the fans getting thrown a curve-ball.

The Night Manager director Susanne Bier is one of a "handful" of names being considered to helm the next James Bond film.
According to RadioTimes, Bier is among producer Barbara Broccoli's favorites for the gig—a job that would make her the first woman to director a James Bond movie. If chosen, she'll take over for Sam Mendes, whose last Bond film was Spectre.
Last week, rumors emerged that The Night Manager star Tom Hiddleston was in talks to replace Daniel Craig as Bond. And if Bier takes over, it certainly tips the scale in the actor's favor.

Was hoping for one or two more Craig films (I like continuity, plus the supporting cast they built up).. but if he really doesn't like the part, even for a paycheck gig... I guess it's time to recast. Not really awesome marketing for him to be bitching about it every movie. I'd be up for either a more classic take on the character with Hiddleston, or shaking things up with Elba...who probably could do it for 10yrs. (he's 43 now)

But if they cast Idris Elba AND the movie looked awesome it'd be the first modern Bond movie I'd see in theaters. Idris Elba > Pierce Brosnan.
I thought Hiddleston was too skinny for the role, but after seeing some clips of The Night Manager I think he'd be perfect. But I hope they don't go overboard with the special effects and action. Hiddleston is awesome but if I saw him exiting from an invisible car, or doing all those gymnastics that Craig was doing in Madagascar in "Casino Royale", I don't think I'd be too enthused in seeing it.

Holy shit! I know Craig hates being Bond, but he doesn't hate it that much, does he?
Actually, I can't imagine that he's really been offered that much. It would be what, almost twice the most up-front money to star in a movie ever? (RDJ was paid $40M upfront for Civil War)

That's crazy money. I can't imagine that the $150 Million number is correct, but who knows? Bond is huge worldwide. If it were me I'd offer him $100 Million, which would still be a record setting up front salary, but no more than that (it's still stupid money, so if he wouldn't accept that he probably wouldn't accept anything).

Well they need to work on a script cuz holy fuck did Spectre have some damn fine moments but holy fuck was it a bore out of those bits. I felt a bit sad seeing how this one had sooooooo much fucking potential and it drops the fucking ball.

$150M is crazy money. That's going to set one hell of a precedent for a-listers.
(That figure doesn't include projected points from the gross, does it?)

I'd love to see him do 2 more than hang it up. Now if they can only make the Blofeld storylines better. I actually didn't mind Spectre, but after the previous offerings, they certainly could have refined the storyline a bit more.
