I picked it up on Vudu and the first 2 eps are great. Can't wait to see when they eventually get to Robo 2 and Frank Miller's "unfilmable" script

It’s posted weekly like a TV series airing. Episode 3 comes out next week.

And the whole season, 4eps is $12.99 for HDX? I’m sold.

Re: ROBODOC: The Creation of RoboCop

The BD does have over 1 hour of bonus material.

I had a $5 Vudu credit, so I did get the digital for $7.99. But I would like to get the BD. I have Robocop on Arrow 4K and this will be a nice supplement to it. But, I’ll probably the disc later on.

Love love love this documentary series so far (I'm on episode 3). So much insight and background in the whole production process. I remember my mom taking me to the movie theater to see this when I was 11 :johnwoo2:

I just watched Robocop with my son last night. Still holds up really well. And it looks like Robodoc is on Amazon Prime as well.

Of course it's holding up; it feels like we're actually living in Robcop's future.

Re: ROBODOC: The Creation of RoboCop

There is a series of vids on youtube that are usually titled The Making Of Indiana Jones was a shit show, or insert some other random film title, and after watching the first episode on Tubi I have to say yup, it was a small miracle this film got made. I also forget that Verhoeven was a pretty well established director when he directed this film, but since I have not seen most of his non-American directed films, I just assumed he was kind-of a fresh face when that is not really the case at all.

I love how candid some of the folks are in the sit-down interview bits. I am definitely going to dive into the second episode this evening after work. I may have been no older than 15 or 16 when the film came out, but I remember that my older brother took me to see the film (not just to get me in, he also wanted to see the film), and I believe we went to the Mann Chinese theater (I have probably mentioned this before in another thread or even earlier in this thread, lol). We were stunned in a good way after watching the film, and truth be told I am a bit surprised I was not more rattled by some of the hyper violence in the film such as when Weller's arm is blown off by a shotgun, just an incredibly brutal scene, and of course this scene pre-dates the rise of torture porn, and violence porn films that have sprung up over the past 20 years.

I love behind the scenes stuff like this doc so I am very happy it is now free to watch.

ETA: Completed all 4 episodes today, and this documentary is fantastic. Worth your time.

Finishing up ep 3 on Tubi. This is so damn good. I hope I get the it gets a physical release. (Haven't read thru thread to see if it's been mentioned already. And now I see it.)

Wonder why Rob Bottin didn't participate. He's the only real big part missing.

I actually looked up to see if he had died recently. Not the case. That was Buechler.

I wonder if he is really shy or something he does not seem to participate in any of these things.

A little bit of looking seems like he just doesn't want to be in the spotlight at all and is just livin' his own life.

Re: ROBODOC: The Creation of RoboCop

I finally finished it. This is THE best movie doc I have ever seen and can see myself giving this repeated viewings. So I am glad I purchased it on Vudu.

I really hope they continue with Robocop 2. I love that one as well and the controversy with it would make this as equally interesting.
