We had one, It didn't get this as far as I can tell, which is odd, because I think it just finished he changeover to the big digital system. There are a couple of LIEMAX screen around me, but even those are fairly few.

I don't think anyone mentioned Jim Rash playing a *very* Dean Pelton-like character in Tony's visit to MIT (a nod to the Russos time on Community.) Here's hoping that the Russos bring in Annie and Britta into Infinity War.

Good 3rd movie, but "Winter Solider" is still my favorite. That movie was just perfection.

...but if other fans did...then that's what you're seeing. You know that "fans" isn't the same as "every fan" right?

Is War Machine big in the comics? He just seems like an Iron Man clone to me.

I can't speak to the last few years since his movie appearances, but Jim Rhodes was really only relevant in the comics as an Iron Man supporting character. In other words, not that relevant. He did replace Tony as Iron Man for a while and appeared in the Avengers in the late 80's, but that's about it. The War Machine armor debuted in the early 90's (Tony wore it first) and was pretty popular, so they put Rhodes in that armor permanently. Despite having his own series briefly, he pretty much just went back to being a supporting character once the EXTREME 90's era came to an end.

I remember during the IM2 days there was talk of a solo WM film. Guess that morphed into the solo Black Panther film.

I wouldn't have wanted to see a War Machine solo film. It would be too much like Iron Man only with Rhodes instead of Stark. I like Don Cheadle but I don't think Rhodey would be that interesting for his own film. The character works fine as a side character in my opinion.

As far as sidekicks go, I like what they've done with Falcon much better than War Machine. I guess I brought up the topic because people are concerned about his possible paralysis, and I'm like "Eh, side character." Maybe I'm just a heartless bastard.

Even though they took two cracks at casting Rhodes, and have had two good actors in the role, I still don't think they've gotten the casting quite right for the character. There might have been some decent story possibilities with WM as the "military sanctioned" Iron Man, but that aspect of the character seems to have been dropped completely. Either way, I don't think I ever need to see a War Machine solo film.

Talk from Marvel being rumored or Bullshit entertainment news nonsense that is made up to make up a story to get any kind of attention to get eyes on them for a bit?

I don't think I've ever cared for Rhodey really till Cap 3. He was written pretty well in there. Everyone was. The whole military man thing never really blossomed into what could have been a very interesting thing for the MCU. I never cared for Rhodes much as a character till like maybe 7 years ago where he was being written really well as a supporting. I liked the character fine cuz he was Stark's best bud and he had his moments but never alone. And 7 years ago or such, the writing on him actually made him a character you gave a fuck about as a supporting. Not just background best friend who's there cuz IM doesn't really have that great of a supporting cast.

For how, Cap 3 portrayed him.. I really liked Cheadle. It was less military and more life experienced (but still having that military backbone).. if that makes sense. And Cheadle had some stuff to work with. Even at the end when he's talking while in his theraphy moment or whatever.... I felt like Rhodey was a real man and less of a caricature of what Rhodey may have been wanted to be by the studio.

Finally saw this and enjoyed it. Better than the first two Avengers movies combined. Looking forward to Avengers: Infinity War with the Russo's at the helm. They did a really good job.

I liked this better than both Avengers movies as well. It couldn't quite live up to the brilliance of The Winter Soldier though.

For me, Avengers 1 = Civil war > Winter Soldier > Avengers 2

I wish Civil war had made more than Avengers 2.

On a different note, the end theme score reminded me of The Flashpoint Paradox score.

I really loved this one and probably put it behind Iron Man for top 2. Can't wait to revisit in 3D...

Re: Captain America: Civil War (The Russo Bros, 2016) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Th

I think Avengers 1 is a lot fun but Cap 2 beats the fuck out of it. I think Cap 3 is more fun than Avengers 1 at this point cuz we're getting some awesome growth out of our heroes.

Avengers 1 had so much going for it based on what had happened before and we got something that never happened at that scale that we fell into. Cap 2 beats the fuck out of it in the action and story.

I MAY put Cap 3 higher than Cap 2. But... Cap 2, man. Has a grit to it that I really enjoy and feel was very well warranted to bring in.

It's sad because I remember really liking the Avengers, but I put it in recently and it just didn't hold up for me. I was a little disappointed...
