Who would you like to see become the next James Bond?

A lot of articles in the last few days saying that Tom Hiddleston (Loki from Thor and the Marvel movies) is interested in becoming the next James Bond if he was offered.

Some speculate that Daniel Craig might be bailing since he recently committed to a new cable series.

These articles give some potential names.

Melissa McCarthy as Jane Bond

I thought Craig still had one more on his contract?

Personally, I'd rather see an unknown, or relative unknown as Craig was when he got cast. No familiar faces, please.

It's an option. Not an obligation. That's the way it's been described.

I voted for Idris, but any competent actor of color will do...I think it's time to shake things up.

Idris was my 2nd choice. Fassbender would work very well.

Will Smith.

No more, end it already.

Idris just to make peoples heads explode.

It helps that I actually do think he would be great in the roll.

Wesley Snipes! In his Blade outfit!

I was always an Owen guy, but he's getting too old to start. I think some others could do it, but of those on the list I would vote Hiddleston. I think he would be a good charming follow up to Craig's blunt force Bond.

I like Hiddleston but I don't see him as Bond. I don't have anyone in mind but Fassbender could be interesting.

I vote for this.

They should hire an American, just because so many Brits have taken our superhero roles.

Leo DiCaprio IS James Bond.

Deal with it. ;)

If Jeremy Irons was a bit younger, he'd get my vote.

I can't see them ever hiring a non-British actor for the role, so you can eliminate Jackman, Fassbender, et al. from the list. Give it to Idris! It would shake up the franchise and give it a jolt.

Emily Blunt, but I still want Bond to be a womanizer

Multi-million dollar movie franchise... or cable series? Yeah, that's a toughy -rolleyes-

Re: Who would you like to see become the next James Bond?

A mid 30's Clive Owen would be my #1 choice. Hell, even a currently 51 year old Clive Owen wouldn't be a bad choice. I just think he has the perfect look.

Fassbender would be a good Bond, but I would prefer someone less established and well known.

If Henry Cavill hadn't been cast as Superman, he'd be a solid choice for Bond. But since he is Superman, he can't also be Bond.

Jude Law or Ewan McGregor are guys I'd look at as a casting director, get them to audition.

Some other names I'd consider: Ralph and Joseph Fiennes, Karl Urban, Guy Pierce, Paul Bettany.

There's all ready been an Australian and Irish Bond.

Anyone from the UK (Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales) is British. British and English is not synonymous.
