BTW, I didn't want to make it seem like I didn't like it on second viewing, just that I didn't find the jokes as funny and exposed the weaker points in the plot and villain.

Saw it for the first time yesterday -- loved it.
I cannot imagine any person other than Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
The movie had harmony, every thing fit very well. The music was great, the electronic notes in the highway scene were brilliant and high octane. Deadpool's wolverine style rage in a couple of scenes played very well. It wasn't all comedy. Ryan and Morena had great chemistry.
Gina Carano was the exception, she seemed quite wooden.

I thought Caranos role was supposed to be wooden save for the wardrobe malfunction which I thought she handled well.

Saw this finally. It's an amusing film. The comedy is the highlight. If it weren't funny it would be the most uninteresting comic book movie ever. Very by the numbers, the villain is not memorable, I don't even know what the plot was.
The film I was most reminded of is Fletch. Both heroes are sarcastic and obnoxious to everyone, always quick with an insult or a deflection; even when the chief of police has a gun drawn on Fletch he's still being a sarcastic asshole. Deadpool seemed to be cut from the same cloth. It also made me think of Kevin Smith's never made Fletch remake staring Jason Lee. I imagine it would have been a lot like Deadpool. Just as sarcastic, but more raunchy.

There's a reason for the plot being the way it is, it's something that couldn't have worked out w/o it... I'd think. Which is unfortunate but was worth it to just get to this point.
And the plot is pretty simple... C'mon, mabuse. * tickles Mabuses balls* You know the plot. Yes, you do. Yes, you do. *fondles the balls*

typo. I forgot a "get to"
Either way. No matter what.. No way could this film even get made if it had a bit more thinking to it. It needed to pretty much hit the base standard to make execs give some cash to the production.

I guess... that's cool? I dunno. I liked it a lot but it was flawed to hell too. That development had to sacrifice a lot just to make that character right based on how the studio just didn't believe in it so strongly.
