I think half of them are pretty solid choices.

Now, who's gonna be the eighth choice?

Judy Dench, Helen Mirren, or Leslie Jones

Maybe Danny is the eighth... or another male lead.

I like the idea of Helen. But I like her in almost anything.

I wasn't sure if any of the ones already announced might be in that role. They could call her Dani.

Sandra Bullock is the "Danny-type character" but she is also supposed to be his sister.

This isn't a full on a remake. It is a spinoff within the established world. Soderbergh is heavily involved. There is a very good chance Clooney could be worked in for a small appearance.

Now a lot people are complaining the budget for this will be about $80 million less than Ghostbusters even though there are 8 stars instead of 4. Ummm, maybe all those special effects in GB actually cost a lot of money?

Since this is a spin-off, why not Julia Roberts? She could play the same character who gets roped into a heist with Danny's sister. Would make perfect sense.

Yeah, Mindy Kaling just doesn't scream theatrical actress, especially with this already eclectic ensemble. She's good on the small screen, voiceover, the bit in 40 Year-old, but no on a production like this...

IDK, hard to pull off a heist when her character looks so much like Julia Roberts.

It was a joke in reference to Ocean's 12.

hmm..must have gotten autocorrected since her name is so ubiquitous in casting news. I meant -- Jodie Foster.

Back in winter 2001, I saw Oceans 11 many times. I was a teen and obsessed with everything Soderbergh (why did I have such a hard time identifying with peers?). I didn't realize I was watching the birth of the Oceans Cinematic Universe.

Unlike some other movies, I don't have a problem with an all female cast in this.

1) It's not a remake/direct sequel.

2) It seems more fitting to have an all female cast in this sort of movie as I read somewhere a long time ago that most confidence people are women... and are better at it than men.

I know a lot of guys who would say that all women are con artists.

Who says DVDTalk isn't educational? Up until this post I never knew what the "con" in con man was short for.
