Maybe Danny is the eighth... or another male lead.

This isn't a full on a remake. It is a spinoff within the established world. Soderbergh is heavily involved. There is a very good chance Clooney could be worked in for a small appearance.

Sandra Bullock is the "Danny-type character" but she is also supposed to be his sister.

Now a lot people are complaining the budget for this will be about $80 million less than Ghostbusters even though there are 8 stars instead of 4. Ummm, maybe all those special effects in GB actually cost a lot of money?

Yeah, Mindy Kaling just doesn't scream theatrical actress, especially with this already eclectic ensemble. She's good on the small screen, voiceover, the bit in 40 Year-old, but no on a production like this...

Back in winter 2001, I saw Oceans 11 many times. I was a teen and obsessed with everything Soderbergh (why did I have such a hard time identifying with peers?). I didn't realize I was watching the birth of the Oceans Cinematic Universe.

Unlike some other movies, I don't have a problem with an all female cast in this.
1) It's not a remake/direct sequel.
2) It seems more fitting to have an all female cast in this sort of movie as I read somewhere a long time ago that most confidence people are women... and are better at it than men.
I know a lot of guys who would say that all women are con artists.
