Your Top 5 Horror Movies Released Between 1990 and Now?
In the "Your top 5 Horror movies?" thread, most movies that people pick are from the 1960s-thru-1980s or earlier.
So adding to that idea, but eliminating any and all Horror Movies released before 1990, what would be your 5 picks for Horror Movies released since that year?
And if you can't get your list down to just 5 movies, having ties and/or honorable mentions is ok.
(NOTE: special versions of earlier Horror Movies do not count for this, so things like The Exorcist "Version You've Never Seen" released in 2000 is not eligible)

Interesting question. I can't help but think there are more pre-80s horror movies that I admire because I saw them at a younger age. As I got older, most of those movies didn't effect me the same way.
My top five would be:
Jacob's Ladder
Silence of the Lambs
Misery
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Sixth Sense
Honourable mentions:
Exorcist III
Wolf
Ju-on
The Devil's Rejects
Blair Witch Project

Stir of Echoes
Audition
The Ring (preferred it over the original and just tremendously nice to look at)
Kairo (one of the most authentically creepy horror movies)
Misery

Kind of a hard question since I'm not as big into modern horror. These are some that stick out to me though.
The Cabin in the Woods
The House of the Devil
In the Mouth of Madness
Scream
The Sixth Sense

The other thread inspired it because my own favorite horror movies list is dominated by movies from the '60s, '70s, and '80s. And seeing that most others in that thread have similar views to me caused me to think about which horror movie after those decades I would rate highly, and I realized how much tougher that question is.
(And if anyone has noticed that I haven't posted my own list, it's because I'm still thinking about it.)

1990s
Braindead (a.k.a. Dead Alive)
Cube
Ringu (a.k.a. Ring)
Scream / Scream 2
Se7en
Honorable Mentions: Army of Darkness, Audition, From Dusk Til Dawn, In the Mouth of Madness, The Stendhal Syndrome, and Wes Craven's New Nightmare amongst others.
I think the 90s is a weak decade for horror. A lot of franchises ended early in the decade (Child's Play, Friday the 13th, and A Nightmare on Elm Street) due to fatigue from all of the horror films from the '80s and the genre was mostly regulated to films going direct-to-video. I know The Silence of the Lambs is the first "horror" film winning Best Picture, but I don't think the genre got a shot in the arm until Scream did more than $100M and spawned one too many slashers. Most of the better works came from outside the United States in the '90s.
2000s
28 Days Later
Battle Royale
The Descent
Grindhouse
Let the Right One In
Honorable Mentions: Cabin Fever, Cloverfield, Dawn of the Dead, The Devil's Rejects, Final Destination 2, Hostel, House of the Devil, The Mist, Paranormal Activity, REC, Slither, and Shaun of the Dead amongst others.
I'm going to consider Battle Royale a "horror" film just for the sake of this list as it technically falls under most genres (action, comedy, drama, and science-fiction too). I also get that Slither and Shaun of the Dead might be considered to be comedies first before horror, but fuck it. 2000s were great for the genre. A lot of new filmmakers were brought to the scene and there was a ton of quality work from both old and new. Even some horror films that didn't work at least had some intriguing elements.
The problem is Saw spawned off a torture porn genre which brought mostly shit (and some of the Saw sequels were better than the original) and Paranormal Activity would spawn the found footage genre despite other films being there first.
2010s
The Cabin in the Woods
You're Next
Honorable Mentions: Devil, Final Destination 5, Paranormal Activity 3, Piranha 3D, Sinister.
Most of the horror films this decade have mostly been found footage films that have been awful (The Devil Inside). Most of the reboots and remakes that have come out of this decade have been awful (Texas Chainsaw 3D). And the rest have just been meddling.

The Blair Witch Project
Saw
Jacob's Ladder
The Ninth Gate
From Dusk till Dawn
... personally I think most of the genre during this time period is shit compared to the 70s/80s.
