The Story of Film: An Odyssey documentary (2011)

Anyone seen this documentary? I'd never even heard of it, but it's now on Netflix. Very informative and thorough.

Yeah, it's been in my streaming queue for a while, but I keep putting off watching it due to the 15 hour total length.

(I know I can just watch 1 hour at a time, but once I start it I'll feel the need the watch the rest in short order.)

I found this documentary very boring. The information provided is not the problem. The narrator is. He speaks in a monotone voice very slowly. I couldn't make it past part two.

That's quite an ambitious range included in the list of films excerpted. However, given how wide the maker of this series casts his net, I was dismayed to find no Japanese animation included in the list.

Two more episodes to go before I finish it. I first saw it, intermittently, on Turner Classic Movies being broadcast in the wee hours of the morning. Was thrilled to see it pop up on Netflix about a year ago.
