That trailer seemed a bit bland but this is one of my most anticipated movies. I can't wait!

Bland is an insult to all things bland. It looks completely flat, predictable and melodramatic. Looks like Rylance will give a solid if trite performance. Trailer was not well received in the GOTG screening I saw,

The movie looks like it's going to have multiple plot lines running concurrently to cover several different stories of the battle that may or may not intersect by film's end. It seemed fairly obvious that the people who cut the trailer had no idea how to put all those aspects in the trailer without making it look convoluted.

I'm going to stick with my gut and say despite that shitty trailer the movie itself will still be good.

The trailer didn't grab me the way Nolan's sci-fi movies did. But that's because it's WWII, not sci-fi. Sci-fi has me sold a lot easier than war.

Either way - good trailer. Looking forward to it.

I'll definitely try and see it in 70mm.

johnnysd is also the guy who wrote these in his previous posts about the movie and Nolan, so i'm not sure how much effort you want to put in to discussing the trailer with him.

I vow to not be sucked in this time by the excellent trailer that will be made which will make me think this Nolan shitfest will somehow be different than his other unwatchable films.

That said, trailer didn't do much for me and i'm a big fan of Nolan's work.

I agree the trailer doesn't make the movie look that compelling. Nolan and 70mm are the two major draws for me...the actual content of the trailer isn't really pulling me in. From what little I've read, the movie is more of a suspense/thriller than a typical "war movie" so I'm hoping it is much more tense than the trailer indicates.

Im not a big fan of Nolan and I may get a bit flowery with my critiques of him. Usually he has a cool trailer and stupid film. maybe this will be a bad trailer and great film

At the end Kenneth Branagh pops up from under the water to find out he is a child in the bathtub playing with his boats and plastic army men, re-enacting the battle beat-for-beat years before it actually happened.

Insomnia and The Prestige both had so-so trailers. Insomnia was also met with a lot of outrage for being a remake. I think he had stylistic restraint with those. That's what I sense from this trailer. With this one, don't expect zero-g hallway fights and whooooommmpppsss in the soundtrack.

Wife has decided this is the movie I am taking her on for her 59th birthday. She is a NUT for historical war movies.

My IMAX hauled out their 15/70 equipment last year . Looks like no place within miles of me is showing it in 70mm IMAX. Dammit.

Pretty surprised this is only 107 minutes. Must be one of Nolan's shortest films. Still really looking forward to it, my appetite for anything WWII will never be satisfied.

An hour shorter than Interstellar and his second shortest film, I'm shocked.

Re: Dunkirk (7/21/2017, Nolan) - News, Rumors, Etc.

When I saw Transformers over the weekend, they did something very weird with Dunkirk. They played like 3 30-second teasers before they finally played the trailer.

Trailer didn't blow me away, but I do like watching war movies and I know this will look very good on the big screen.

Apparently, someone found the 70MM Screening Locations hidden on the Official Site:

I have like zero interest in the actual film, but LOVE movies in 70mm so might see it just for that...looks really dull though
