It sure looks like one. I stopped watching after thirty seconds.

Solid Snake 11-30-08 11:51 PM

I've never understood why people do this. Must be fun to make I guess, but yeah...I was actually thinking this morning as I played Maverick Hunter X how a live action MM film would never work.

MaxMFP 11-30-08 11:53 PM

Society really is fucking doomed.

kstublen 12-01-08 12:07 AM

A part of my childhood died after watching that...

PopcornTreeCt 12-01-08 01:02 AM

That "chick" looks like a dude in a blonde wig.

Perkinsun Dzees 12-01-08 01:11 AM

This looks pretty good. Not as good as Italian Spider Man but pretty good nonethelss.

Ronnie Dobbs 12-01-08 01:39 AM

what are they wearing paintball gear?

You sure about that?

Because any movie that doesn't include Metal Man is nothing short of a joke.

Brack 12-01-08 06:25 AM

I'm thinking "this is not a joke" was an intentional joke.

The Infidel 12-01-08 11:20 AM

Looks like a MadTV skit.

Sonic 12-01-08 11:39 AM

I give it 5 gay stars

starman9000 12-01-08 12:40 PM

I'm boycotting this. It's obviously an anti-western propaganda flick.

Lara Means 12-01-08 12:59 PM

This is a pretty terrible fanmade movie trailer. Dr. Wily looks crappy enough to be a bad guy in the Scooby Doo cartoon.

My Other Self 12-01-08 02:05 PM

This is obviously just a fanfilm.. eh. Wasn't THAT bad. But that one chick does look like a dude in a wig.

taffer 12-06-08 09:50 AM

Reminds me of the rumors from a few years ago of a live action Mega Man movie starring Vin Diesel.

How easy is it to make CG nowadays? I mean it looks absolutely terrible but they made their own CG robots? That's kind of impressive.

chowderhead 12-08-08 01:05 AM

man James Cameron is really skimping on his CG budget. I fear for T4.

Blame McG then.

Neat effort. Overall lame. I dunno about people who do this stuff. But, hey, they're practicing making movies.

The villian guy was chewing it up. Very cool. He was the most legit thing in the trailer.

Mega Man: The Movie (Fox)

Mega Man: Movie Based on Capcom Video Game Character Reportedly Enters Development

Capcom’s Mega Man is about to jump to another platform! 20th Century Fox is reportedly developing Mega Man as a live-action film in conjunction with Chernin Entertainment. David Ready and Michael Finfer are slated to produce the film, with Peter Chernin, Mike Ireland and Ryan Horrigan. The new Mega Man film project doesn’t currently have a director or screenwriter attached to it.

The Mega Man video game franchise launched in 1987 on the NES, and it featured the first adventure of the title character, an android who was also known as Rock. Within the world of the game and its many, many sequels, Mega Man was created by Doctor Light and tasked to stop the evil robots built by Dr. Wily. Whenever Mega Man defeats one of Dr. Wily’s robot bosses, he gains their abilities.

Mega Man also spawned a spinoff video game series called Mega Man X, in addition to a few animated Mega Man series. Earlier this year, the writing collective known as Man of Action and Dentsu Entertainment announced a new Mega Man animated series that will debut in 2017 for the character’s 30th anniversary.

That pending anniversary may also explain why the live-action Mega Man is now moving forward five years after Mega Man 10 was released. It may also mean that Capcom is ready to revisit the Mega Man franchise in the near future, since a multi-media push would be an ideal way to sell more Mega Man games.

Hollywood has struggled to make video game movies into blockbusters for decades. Capcom has been fairly lucky that the Resident Evil movies have been well received. But a Mega Man film will inevitably draw comparisons to the Super Mario Bros. movie; which was so historically bad that it chased Nintendo away from Hollywood for twenty years. Even Capcom’s first live-action Street Fighter movie from 1994 is seen as more of a cult classic unintentional comedy instead of a real action movie.

Who knows if Mega Man can be successfully turned into a good live-action movie? Mega Man has made some tricky jumps in his long platforming career. But this one is going to be the hardest jump yet.
Fox ....

I was in...until I read it was live action.

Yeah. Live Action isn't the way for this one to go.

Capcom hasn't pushed any new Mega Man games in forever so I'd guess they have one in development.
