Pretty much all of Heath Ledger's acting in The Dark Knight, but the interrogation room in particular.

I think this scene may have even been more powerful

It's the whole movie, but that scene in particular that made me learn Naomi Watts' name.

I much prefer his work in Brokeback Mountain and Monster's Ball, but he certainly did some fine work in TDK.

All IMO of course. I thought they did better work throughout the rest of the film. That scene, though, almost ruined the movie for me.
I'm not sure what was cliched about that scene. I haven't seen a scene in a movie quite like that, so for me it was hardly cliché at all. And I totally bought the scene. If you didn't find that part believable, then I don't get how you could ultimately care about the character of Will Hunting, and understand that his hardened shell was finally broken.

A nice followup to this scene. Incredible.

I found it cheap, melodramatic, manipulative, and quite frankly insulting. Quite frankly, his actions and behavior *were* his fault.

One I've never been able to take my eyes off of is Nick Nolte's scene at the end of North Dallas Forty. Just about perfect.

Also, Paul Newman in the opening Minnesota Fats match in The Hustler. But really his work throughout the film. The movie also had superb performances from Piper Laurie and George C. Scott.

Yeah, and of course Walken is equally great. I haven't seen that flick in a while. I'll have to check it out again.
