Yeah maybe they could portray everyone on the Death Row label as innocent angels like they did NWA from SOC.

Re: Welcome to Death Row - (Compton "sequel" to focus on Snoop and Tupac)
The same one Dee Barnes watched.

Re: Welcome to Death Row - (Compton "sequel" to focus on Snoop and Tupac)
Could have sworn Suge wasn't 'Mr. Nice Guy' in SOC.
Pretty sure I saw members of NWA threatening people with several types of guns. Ice Cube demolished a guys office with a bat with help from his 'posse'. I know I saw them incite a riot at a concert ... yeah, portrayed as 'innocent angels' Seems everyone is pissed we didnt get to see Dre beating the shit out of a woman. I guess that would have made the movie a 5/5 |

Except that Notorious came out when digital projection wasn't wide yet. It cost upwards of $10M alone just to play the film in 1600 screens on top of its $20M budget. Then there was also marketing . . .

Looks like this will be called DPG 4 Life or something like that. I guess we shall see.

'Straight Outta Compton' Sequel
The New Cast!!! ... For 'DPG 4 Life' Move over "Empire" ... the biggest Round 2 has just been revealed ... the new cast of the follow up to "Straight Outta Compton" -- "Dogg Pound 4 Life." We got these pics of the new cast, and take a look at who they're playing ... Daz Dillinger (played by Azad Arnaud - next to the real Daz), Dr. Dre (played by Dre's son Curtis), Suge Knight (played by Reggie Noble), The Lady of Rage (that's really her), Tupac (played by DaDa), and Kurupt (played by Melvin Jackson Jr. from "The Wire"). The pic below, showing all the actors, was shot over the weekend at an L.A. recording studio. Daz got them all together to shoot a scene, where Suge, Tupac and Daz record "Ambitionz Az a Ridah," and "I Ain't Mad at Cha" in a 24-hour period. But Marcc Rose (Tupac SOC) looks like a Tupac clone. All they did here was get a VH1 story tellers looking dude. And please tell me Suge isn't played by an overweight Redman? I dont get why if this is a sequel, just use the same players? |
Re: Welcome to Death Row - (Compton "sequel" to focus on Snoop and Tupac)
Because it's not an "official" sequel.

Re: Welcome to Death Row - (Compton "sequel" to focus on Snoop and Tupac)
Russell Poole, the retired Los Angeles Police detective who was the first to accuse fellow cops and Death Row Records CEO Marion (Suge) Knight for the rapper's 1997 death, collapsed and died Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times reported. An unidentified sheriff's official said Poole was meeting with detectives about a cold case, one that wasn't specified, when he suffered a suspected heart attack. Poole suggested that Biggie's slaying was in retaliation for Shakur's, whose murder also remains unsolved. In a twist, the determined sleuth also suggested that Knight staged Shakur's murder to avoid paying the "California Love" artist millions of dollars owed in royalties, he said in the 2002 documentary, "Biggie & Tupac." |
Re: Welcome to Death Row - (Compton "sequel" to focus on Snoop and Tupac)
I heard that Tupac really only made a few hundred thousand dollars off of AEOM. Now, I can't say that is 100% truth but I wouldn't say that it is false, either.

You see that Chronic jersey? That was in my closet until a few days ago.

And is that really Redman as Suge?!? |
Re: Welcome to Death Row - (Compton "sequel" to focus on Snoop and Tupac)
Damn. I did not even recognize Redman. Would be weird for him to play Suge Knight.
Also, in the top photo, I think the guy playing 2pac looks more like a slimmer Nate Dogg (RIP) in the face. |
Re: Welcome to Death Row - (Compton "sequel" to focus on Snoop and Tupac)
Not the same "Reggie Noble". Just look at some of Redman's recent Tweets or Instagram pics and it is clear that they are not the same person.
