Bridesmaids 2, anyone?

Well, Kristen Wiig doesn't want a sequel. Universal may or may not go ahead without Wiig and Melissa McCarthy would drop everything to be in a sequel.
Best bet: if Ghostbusters flops Wiig will do the Bridesmaids sequel.

Would you be down for a sequel?

There have been few movies released in the last 10 years or so that I hated MORE than Bridesmaids. I hate that movie with a passion! Some of the most unlikable characters I've ever seen in a comedy.

I predict a sequel will be made in name only with few, if any, actors from the original returning. Either way, I won't be watching.

I never finished the terrible first one.

I really liked the first one. McCarthy stole the movie.

That said Wiig is correct in that a sequel is not needed.

Surprised one hasn't been greenlit or made already. It was a huge hit, and the masses thought it was hilarious.

Wiig is a dumbass for not wanting to do another one.

Yes, if Wiig's in it--and writes it, or co-writes, like she did the first one.

Otherwise, no.

Bridesmaids was like her personal pet project or something, she put in lots of extra effort to make it good from what I read from Interviews.
I don't see how this wouldn't be possible for a sequel though.

Yeah, the first one was abysmal, IMO. No thanks.

Haven't seen and will never see the first one. I voted "No thanks."

The ship has sailed on this years 2 years ago...

Re: Bridesmaids 2, anyone?

First one was decent but a little overrated, but that said I wouldn't mind another if the entire cast came back. If Wiig isn't interested, then no.

I'd only be down if it is an all male remake.

Turn the tables and wait for the outrage. Damn the patriarchy!

well at least it's an informed choice.

Only if Melissa McCarthy does an extended, well-lit full frontal/rear nude scene.

We didn't need the first one. So sequel? Please no.

I thought Bridesmaid was average, no worse than a dozen or so other big studio comedies, so I'm surprised to see the forum has so much vitriol against it. Did Diablo Cody write it or something?

Re: Bridesmaids 2, anyone?

Well it certainly didn't need to be 2 hrs 12 minutes.

No shit. It's not like this is a Asylum / SyFy movie directed by Uwe Boll or something.

Bridesmaids is in my Top 10 of this century (no joke), but I do not want a sequel.

Jack Straw 08-23-15 03:03 PM

Re: Bridesmaids 2, anyone?

I've watched this movie 3-4 times with my wife (who loves it) and thought it was certainly worthy of being made. Had several laugh-out-loud moments. The only thing I didn't care for was Chris O'Dowd's Irish cop portrayal which was completely unrealistic.
