"Can you dig it" came from a popular song back in the '60s but I can't remember which one. Then I heard it in Billy Crystal's Louis Armstrong sketch on SNL. ("Can you dig it? I knew that you could.") Did a movie use it, too? If so, which one?

You might be thinking of Grazing in the Grass by The Friends of Distinction - 1968.

I know the expression itself goes back farther than that, maybe the 1930's.
