Re: The Craig Bond Trilogy, The Bourne Quadrilogy, or the Mission Impossible Pentalog
I was never a big fan of Bourne. I really liked the first one but the next two were good but didn't do much for me.
The recent Bond trilogy has been fantastic. Casino Royale is my favorite of the bunch. I liked Skyfall too but thought Quantum was unwatchable.
I picked the MI Penalogy. I haven't seen the 5th yet. The first is one of my favorite action movies ever. MI:2 was a disappointment. 3 and 4 were awesome.

I would take Brosnan over Craig as James Bond any day.
I would love to have seen any of "the other fellas" over Craig in all of his movies (with the exception of Lazenby).
Brosnan got fucked with shitty scripts. Fun at times...but still crummy a lot of the time. But at least they were different from the Bourne movies and had some separation. Now they are just standard action flicks. Nothing special or unique about them.

When I re-watched all the Bond movies on Blu-ray, I couldn't believe how campy the Brosnan movies were in retrospect. Even GoldenEye. They're just as bad, if not worse, than Moore's flicks.
Now, if you're just referring to the actor - yeah, it would have been nice to see Brosnan play Bond the way Dalton and Craig have...he might have been really great at it, but he wasn't asked to do that.

Are you crazy? It's precisely the way Brosnan played Bond in his own interpretation made it great. He was charismatic, witty, funny and kicked ass at the same time. If I were to imagine what Bonds is like, I'd totally imagined the way Brosnan played it. Having been in Remington Steele sure played dividend. I really wished they kept Brosnan. He would have killed it in Casino Royale, Quantum and Skyfall.

If you want to see what Brosnan could do with a harder edge, see The November Man. I thought he was great in that.

Put me in the Brosnan camp as well. I think he played Bond right, the films themselves are just more fun and a bit more over the top, than serious.

This. As far as I'm concerned, Legacy doesn't really exist in the Bourne universe. Very much looking forward to the new Matt Damon Bounre coming out next year.
