They’ll probably throw it in The Joker as well via flash forward just for good measure.

It’s been a while since I’ve watched it so I can’t remember, but do we actually see the death scene in Batman Forever? I’m pretty sure all we see is Bruce flashing back to the night it happened and we an image of Jack Napier (not actually played by Nicholson) briefly, and then we see the night of the wake for the Wayne’s followed by Bruce discovering the cave.

Live action I’m fairly certain it’s only been in Batman, Batman Begins, and Batman V Superman. If we’re counting tv I suppose Gotham too. It felt out of place and unnecessary most in Batman V Superman in my opinion. Burton was the first time we got a Batman film that had a darker tone so it worked having it, and Nolan’s first film was an origin so it made sense to include it.

I agree it’s been done a lot though. It’s also been done in various animated forms as well as one of the Arkham games.

Edit: guess I was wrong about Batman Forever, there is a flashback to the death of the Wayne's.

Just for the sake of random curiosity, did the old Adam West show ever show his parent’s deaths? I’m guessing not... probably wouldn’t have fit the campy tone of the show.

I haven’t seen all the episodes, but I’m pretty positive it didn’t. I think there may have been a line about it once is all.

Edit: looked it up. It’s never shown but like I said it is mentioned. It’s a line in the first episode where Bruce acknowledges the dastardly (you can tell it’s the 66 show when he uses a word like that) criminals who murdered his parents.

Given the release date is so far off, I'd be okay with the delay. They need to get the script right, especially if Warner wanted Reeves to give it more action. Rather it feel seamless. Just sucks we might have to wait to get any casting.

I know he's a decent actor but the stench of Twilight still lingers with Pattison. The online community is really not going to be kind to this casting.

Never seen the dude in anything but this just feels like a one-off and we never see him again as Batman.

Per THR:

While a deal has not yet been made and it is unclear if there is an offer on the table, Robert Pattinson is a top contender play Batman in Matt Reeves' DC movie for Warner Bros.

It is also unclear who else is on Reeves' short list, other names that have been floated alongside Pattinson's were Armie Hammer, Nicholas Hoult and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

I actually really like this casting. Pattinson fits the bill pretty well for a younger Bruce in terms of looks. The Twilight films aside he’s actually a decent actor.

I never saw any of the Twilight movies, but I did see Good Time and The Lost City of Z and he was pretty good in both. I believe both are on Prime streaming.

Pattinson is so far removed from the Twilight movies in 2019. He's worked with Cronenberg, Herzog. He was really good in Lost City of Z, Good Time, High Life. He's turned himself into a legit actor. I'm onboard with this casting. The only thing he's really going to need to do is bulk up quite a bit, because he's a pretty skinny dude. I haven't really followed the goings on of the DC universe movies, but I really hope this movie isn't still a part of that clusterfuck.
