OK this looks interesting. Busy but I like it.

It looks very cobbled together. Hopefully that’s an indicator that this suit is an early version Bruce puts together, and isn’t ultimately what this version of the character will look like. I want to like this movie, but the suit is a major turnoff so far. I do like the motorcycle with the Bat front end.

They've repeatedly said that, while it is NOT Batman: Year One, it is Batman early in his career. So I'd imagine things would be very utilitarian before exploding into the more "fantastical" Batman elements.

re: The Batman (2022, D: Matt Reeves) S: Pattinson

I knew that it’s supposed to be early in his career, but I didn’t know how early. They’ve been vague so it could be like a Batman who’s done this for a couple years or so. Like I say I’m hopeful this is more or less a prototype suit and this Batman has been at it a short period (although if that’s the case he already has a lot of villains to be taking on).

Truth be told though if this is an early years Batman I do wish we would just get a more straight adaptation of Year One. Still probably my favorite origin story for a superhero and my favorite Batman story.

The only reason I'm not the biggest fan of Batman: Year One is that it's really Gordon: Year One, guest starring Batman. Meh.

I actually preferred Batman: Year Two. Mike Barr and Alan Davis did great on that one

I like it.

But it's all gonna be about how it moves on screen. Needs to allow for some fluidity which hasn't really existed in any Batman movie not starring Adam West.

I like all those early Batman stories. Year Two and Three are both alright too. There are a lot of stories that fall in the same timeline I like too (Gothic, Prey, Shaman, Snow).

I LOVE that Costume. Also, that collar looks practical, logical, and good.

Considering he already appears to have a Batcycle, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that’s his final suit. I certainly don’t need to see yet another montage of Batman trying different suits and gear before he gets to the final one.

I like the suit. Not a fan of the cowl.

Do we know when this comes out? Is it summer 2021?

I don't know, I mean the motorcycle looks pretty basic and functional, like the suit (it's not like the sleek, futuristic, multifunctional "Batpod" from The Dark Knight). But then again, maybe that's the aesthetic they're going for here.

I don’t mind the suit but I’m not sold on those bat ears. They’re too skinny or something. They remind me of the wonky bat ears from the suit in the 1940s serials.

Loved Gothic and I still have Prey to read, although it's already bought. Legends of the Dark Knight was pretty great in general.

Most rumors and even sources "working on the production" have said that he goes from this to a more streamlined textile suit.

Yeah, that looks early, both the suit and the bike. So, not an origin story (thank goodness) but still figuring everything out. I like that approach.

Yeah, the Legends of the Dark Knight comic line has a lot of my favorite stories in it.

I wouldn’t mind an origin again if it just skipped the murders of Thomas and Martha. Although I feel like there probably won’t be a better Batman origin film than Batman Begins. I love that damn movie. A film that’s early on in his career works though too.

Batman:Warzone...

I just want to see the detective side of things. The films seem to keep forgetting that aspect of Batman and that it's not all about using tech.

I wasn’t real big on Zero Year. Truthfully I don’t like Scott Snyder’s Batman run as much as many do. It had some good parts but overall just not my favorite.

I think I'm going to just wait and see the movie before putting such an exhausting amount of thought into it.
