Or they can really down to Earth and keep it grounded.

Batman going to have werewolf skills?

Hell, let's have Beckensale in this, too.

Ummm...okay. It looks okay. Unless theyíre taking it in a wildly different direction, itís hard to get too excited about another Batman costume these days.

I love the costume. The cowl looks like it takes from Adam West, while the suit pulls from the Arkham games and the collar gives it a vampiric element, while the whole test ties it all together with a very noir-ish feel. It's also reminding me of Darren Aronofsky's script for Batman, if anyone is familiar with that (I think that might also be where a lot of rumors are springing from).

I'll wait until there's a better look at the entire costume and how it hangs on Pattinson before I judge

I can't keep track here... is this a continuation of or prequel to the Ben Affleck Batman, or a complete reboot?

Iím fairly certain that itís something completely separate. Not even sure itís meant to tie into the larger DCEU.

We haven't had a new Batman in *checks notes* four years. It was obviously time for a complete reboot.

I donít even really count Affleck Batman in a weird way. He was essentially the costar of two films. There wasnít enough time with him and he didnít have his own film. To me heís more like an asterisk in the history of Batman Iím film. He was good but Iím glad his era is done at the same time.

The last real Batman film in my book is The Dark Knight Rises. So eight years between films after one version wrapped up isnít bad.

So you disregard Affleck who starred as Batman in two films and was featured in a 3rd? Keaton was in two films. Clooney and Kilmer were only in one (and none of them were the ďstarsĒ of their films - the villains were).

Those were all solo films where those actors played the title role. Sure the villains may have outshined them in some cases, but regardless they were the starring hero. Affleck had to share his role both times with at least two other actors playing hero roles the times he took on the character, and neither was a solo Batman film. Itís just how I view it in my mind. Not saying others have to agree.

While the two movies weren’t very good, I really liked Affleck as Batman. I really loved the suit.

Could they ever go back to well and do a solo Affleck older Batman film?

Affleck has superhero PTSD, I don't think he'd ever be interested in it.

Affleck was fine. Not taking anything away from him at all. Just saying heís more of a footnote Batman to me.

Affleckís suit was my favorite all time Batman suit. The short ears and grey suit beat tall ears and all black suit any day.

The warehouse fight scene in BvS gave us a little glimpse of how awesome Affleck could have been as Batman. Unfortunately, we never got much beyond that.

We don't know but I assume it is basically not tied to anything.

Both of his superhero movie experiences have been disasters. I don't think he'll ever do another one again.

I think RP is going to rock. Also, they don't even show you the top of cowl and the bottom of suit, or cape. Also, the gun emblem is awesome.

The emblem sucks. Thatís actually my least favorite thing about it. I just think the fact that heís literally wearing them is kinda goofy. The comic page I posted where he melted the gun down and used that metal to make a Bat emblem works better for me just because it doesnít look as silly. That and I donít like the collar on the cape.

From what I can tell if the cowl I donít like it. But I saw a better image of the emblem and the suit it black...I like it! The origin sounds kinda dumb just reading about it, but I think it makes this version more unique. I like how it makes him seem even more anti-gun.

Re: The Batman (2021, D: Matt Reeves) S: Pattinson

The mask reminds me a lot of Zorro...

Could they finally be incorporating that into his (movie) origin? As long as we don't have to see it again. Although I'd be fine with a nice conversation as they leave the film. They can just leave it at them walking into an alley.

I donít remember where but I saw a lightened version of the Pattinson photo and I liked the look of the suit for the most part but it looked like the cowl has a weird stitched leather look to it that just felt cheap to me. Canít say I was a fan of that.

hopefully the gun emblem isnít true. I donít think it looks particularly bad, I just think itís a stupid idea.

Re: The Batman (2021, D: Matt Reeves) S: Pattinson

The weird thing is, is that to me, the chest and gun/bat emblem look like some tactical gear inspired by the Batman Arkham games. But the collar and mask look like Zorro. It's like one part of it is an old fashioned costume from the 1930s and the other part is a modern/futuristic.

The broken gun being the bat logo does sound kind of dumb. Like he's Anti-Gun Man instead of Batman. But I'm sure when if they go that route they'll present it in a way that works. All you need is some good serious or ominous music to play while he's constructing the emblem from a disassembled gun and it'll be taken seriously. Kind of like the construction of Freddy's glove or the repair of Kylo Ren's mask. Honestly, that new addition to Batman is the one thing that has be kind of interested in this movie now.
