Anyway, hope that gets rectified for Reeves' trilogy.
I still prefer Katie Holmes to Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel though. Not sure why but Maggie just didn’t work for me. I agree though that Holmes is weak compared with the rest of the cast. Agree though that I’d like a stronger Dent/Two-Face arc in Reeves’ trilogy.

Is that a useable Batarang in the chest?

Not much to go off of yet, but I’m not sure if I’m a fan. The Bat logo looks weird to me (it’s missing the ears and tail). It also has a bit of a mechanical look which I don’t know if I like. It looks too modern for my taste. I’m reserving judgement until I see a better look but eh..

I had hoped for something similar to the Jim Lee Hust style suit.

I thought it was two knives since it seemed to have belt clips, too.

I’m really excited for this, but I’m not digging the “tactical” look of the suit or the logo so far.

I kind of get vibes from the Rocksteady Arkham games. Particularly Arkham Knight where the suit was more tactical. I’ve been on board for most of the news from this film so far. This might be the most disappointing aspect to me, which the look is pretty important. Hope it looks better when we can see more of it and in action. That logo is going to bother me if it’s final.

Read that the bat symbol are the parts from the gun that killed his parents...

Far from confirmed at all, but it seems possible that the insignia on Robert Pattinson's Batman suit appears to be made from pieces of a gun. "What pieces?" you might be thinking, look again above. The two pieces that make up the bat "wings" look a lot like a compact or tactical stock for a weapon, perhaps some kind of shotgun, which has been cut in half to make the bat symbol.

There is precedent for Batman using the weapons that killed his parents in his costume though. The story "Manufacture for Use" in
Detective Comics #1000 by Kevin Smith and Jim Lee told the tale of Bruce Wayne wearing a disguise and buying the gun used by Joe Chill at a seedy pawn shop in Gotham. He then melted down the gun into an armor plate that he wears underneath the insignia of his costume delivering a heartbreaking monologue about it.

Hmm, all pretty interesting so far. That screen test looks intriguing, and cool if they detail that about the bat insignia used as a weapon because of what it’s made from.

I’m hoping that this is kind of a early homemade style suit and not the only one he wears.

Think I read Reeves is going for a more grounded version (maybe even more so than Nolan), including the batmobile being a souped up muscle car, which I'm thinking we'll see soon as well.

I’m kind of over the whole grounded approach truth be told. It’s limiting to a lot of aspects. We’ve seen that once and it was fine, but I’d rather see a more comic version of the character with some of the more fantastical elements and characters.

I agree, but start the first movie where it’s more grounded like Nolan’s. Legitimizes it a bit more and allows them to slowly bring in the more fantastical elements and characters. And it could unofficially tie Nolan’s to the overall DCU.

I like it. Not a major bat fan, but this has a neat tone and look.

That’s kinda interesting I guess. Never had seen this issue. Bruce gets Joe Chill’s gun and melts it down and uses the metal for his emblem. That would be better than having it literally look like he’s wearing guns as his emblem.

I’ve actually been one of the more mostly positive people in this thread. The suit is one of the only things I’m not exactly on board with.
