I thought Nightwing would be more likely as it actually had McKay assigned time direct and I believe write. I don’t think Batgirl ever had anyone attached. Whedon was early on but there was that drama where he wound up leaving.

That image makes me think Year One. Specifically the ending where Bruce saves Gordon’s kid. He’s riding a motorcycle (not in his Batman suit) chasing down some thugs who kidnap Gordon’s baby.

Someone else I saw mentioned Zero Year. Guess it could be drawing inspiration from that too.

It means the director is confirming the casting of Farrell as The Penguin, Oswald.

I’ll have to see it because I’m still not sold on him as Penguin. Good actor though so I’m not down on him. Just not who I’d have expected in that role.

Yeah. Like I said earlier he just doesn’t look like how I’d expect Penguin to traditionally look is my main knock against the casting. I’m sure he’ll be fine though.

He was really good as Bullseye on Daredevil. So he can definitely play crazy

Crazy how many actors have crossed over to play multiple characters in Marvel and DC.

Farrell is looking a little thicker than normal.

He talks a little about The Penguin at 7m30s.

Farrell seems like a cool guy. Looking at him
there I guess I can see it a bit more since he is looking a bit bigger than normal.

Per Business Wire on the cast breakdown:

Peter Sarsgaard (“The Magnificent Seven,” “Black Mass”) as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Jayme Lawson (“Farewell Amor”) as mayoral candidate Bella Reál

It's a new character. Probably will be a corrupt DA, paving the way for Harvey Dent in a sequel... Preferably I'd like to see him established in "The Batman 2" (and a good friend to Bruce) and then become Two-Face in the third movie. As much as I liked TDK, that aspect seemed rushed.

Harvey could have been better in Nolan’s trilogy had they went with the original plan of putting him in Batman Begins. The studio wanted a love interest though and the Rachel character was inserted instead.

And worse yet, cast Katie Holmes. She's an okay actress generally but going up against the rest of the cast, felt like the weak link. Everytime I watch the scene where she scolds and slaps Bruce, I kind of chuckle, so cute seeing her try to play tough and stern.

Anyway, hope that gets rectified for Reeves' trilogy.
