The Justice League cartoon begs to differ....

There are great JL stories out there, just that they don't have the right people running the show.

It can work, but I do tend to agree that Batman overall works better in his own space. Like I said heís better in a team element with the Bat Family rather than surrounded by Gods and aliens.

Iím sure itís all a matter of personal opinion. Iíve watched a handful of the JL Animated movies and while I do enjoy them, the group doesnít seem to gel quite as well as maybe they should. Batman always seems like the odd man out in the group, especially when they all take flight and leave Bats jogging to his car or flying piggy-back on one of the other characters.

And it probably has a lot to do with the writing of the JL movies but the characters really just donít seem to like each other very much. To me, it makes an awkward group even more awkward.

Not the movies, the cartoon series. Batman is distrustful of all of them, based on the power they have. They are several plots that deal with that. He is the odd man out. He realizes that there needs to be someone there watching over them.

Gotcha. Iíve never seen the cartoon series. I like the idea of keeping the most powerful people in check.

Seriously watch the animated series. Batman has contingencies for all the JL in case they go rogue.

That could have been interesting to see in the DCEU.

I think that idea was first started in the comics with Grant Morrison's run on JLA

I hope this is amazing. 1992 was a long time ago and its a shame we have had to wait this long for a good Batman film.

I'm sure there are and that the Bruce Timm series stands among some of the best storytelling for the Justice League, but I'm not interested in the other characters. It's like explaining how great Casino Royale is to someone who doesn't want to watch a movie about a British spy.

Beck and Woods also mention their project Sovereign, which is slated to star Mahershala Ali, who also happens to be the subject of Jeff’s very juicy Rumor of the Week [Ali first choice to play Gordon]. This rumor is unlikely to pan out, so take it with a mountain of salt, but hey, stranger things have happened.

And in case you didn't read the article, says he is in negotiations, so this doesn't appear to be one of those wish list rumors.
