Isn't there some sort of "statute of limitations." I mean the thread should be spoiler free on opening day for crying out loud.

Yeah. There was a point to everything going on in that film. Fuck. T2 is just so damn big and great.

After reading that, I hope they go time-travel crazy with the sequels.

Also: Sorry for starting "Armgate". I hope we can be civil about it.

I'm not going to wrap it in spoilers, so if you haven't seen the film then you shouldn't be in this thread.
Heh. If that is true, then
Spoiler:
it pretty much 'canonizes' everything Terminator: the NOW comics, the Marvel comics, the Dark Horse comics, and the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

And, of course, Robocop vs Terminator.

Not in the review thread. There's a regular thread for the film but I didn't feel the need to post what I posted in that one.

Yeah, there really is no reason to not use spoiler tags. God forbid you want to know if a movie is decent or not.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (2015) -- S: Schwarzenegger -- The Reviews Thread

Not when there's the general thread and the review thread. Believe me, these rules go back to Prometheus (when I first joined the site) and there were tons of spoilers in that thread and the mods said that the review threads did not enforce the tags.

Now if there was just one review thread for the film then I would spoiler. Since there's two then I won't.

Yeah I've always kind of looked at review threads as read at your own risk of being spoiled.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (2015) -- S: Schwarzenegger -- The Reviews Thread

I figured a review thread would be an opinion thread, and a discussion thread would have spoilers for, you know, discussion reasons, but right on. Regardless, spoiler tags are super easy to use.

Then take it up with the mods or submit it in the user feedback.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (2015) -- S: Schwarzenegger -- The Reviews Thread

At least for the first weekend, I think it's fair to say that spoiler tags should be used. Many here don't have the time and money to see every summer blockbuster movie. So I understand that many here are trying to be selective and they may need some spoiler free opinion to get the extra nudge to make the time. Especially with this movie since it hasn't gotten very kind remarks from most film critics.

After the first weekend with spoilers and stories all over the internet, then I think it's fair game.

I was going to see this movie regardless of opinions in this thread or some hack film critic.

I don't have a problem with that if it's implemented, because back in the day I was one of the complainers of not using spoiler tags then the mods told me it wasn't enforced. Ever since then I don't use spoiler tags in the review threads. Now if they go in there an change the rules then I will. I'm not trying to be malicious or a jerk - I used to spoiler tag everything way back when.

*Mods, what say you?

No one is saying spoiler tags are hard to use, but at the same time pretty much any time I read a review thread its pretty much free reign. I don't see it as unexpected because people who have seen the film are obviously in a review thread to say what they liked or didn't like and there are chances of going into specific details. Its been like this as long as I can remember.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (2015) -- S: Schwarzenegger -- The Reviews Thread

So I guess helicopters crashing into the ground and exploding later is the new thing in movies nowdays (The CG in that whole chase was pretty awful, btw)

I admit that the first half-hour of this was a surprisingly fun ride. But it comes to a stand-still when the "Twist" occurs and it becomes messy and predictable afterwards. As a lot of the reviewers and comments have already said, Arnie steals the show. Lots of laughs and chuckles from the crowd I saw it with were generated from him. As ranking of favorites go, I'd put this behind T3 (I still like the consistent tone of that one) but this is EASILY more memorable than T4.

Actually, the biggest highlight of the movie to me was to see Sandrine Holt's name pop up in the opening credits. I've always had a huge crush on her since Black Robe came out. Still lookin' good too.

My wife(!) has decided she wants to see it tomorrow, and she passed on seeing all the others in the theater. In fact, I don't think she's watched any of them all the way through... So I guess I'll add my thoughts later this weekend...

So.... better or worse than T3 and T4? I have to decide between seeing this or that Pixar Inside Out whatever thing tomorrow night. Help me out.

Did Paramount out-bid Warner Bros for distribution rights for this film or something?

The Ellisons (David and Megan) who produced the film through their company Skydance Productions bought the rights to the franchise and Skydance movies are distributed by Paramount.
