Recommend lesser known movies (but with a twist)

The twist is...

1 Name a movie you enjoy, and which is fairly well known.
2 Name a movie which is similar in style, or plot, or theme etc. to 1, but is more under the radar, and perhaps not considered widely known. Example:

If you liked The Stepfather (1987)

http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/2/Ope...er=allrovi.com

then check out Blackout (1985)

http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/2/Ope...er=allrovi.com

Similar identity crisis / domestic terror theme, and even the settings are almost the same. I believe the makers of The Stepfather got most, if not all, ideas from Blackout.

Guess I'll go for a serial-killer theme.

^I thought that would've had a dated, TV-movie feel about it. But was surprised at how complex it turned out to be. Great performance by Curtis too.

Same. In fact, I forget a lot of what happened in it, but it was an overlooked little flick. And it introduced me to cashew butter.

if you liked Antichrist (2009)

http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/2/Ope...er=allrovi.com

check out Vinyan (2008)

http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/2/Ope...er=allrovi.com

Vinyan is basically Antichrist's little cousin. Not as explicit as Lars von Trier's shocker but disturbing enough if you dig psychological horror.

Both are similar in a lot of ways, they actually have the same composer, and I am a little biased since Fling was filmed in Kansas City. It was shown on Showtime a lot, is on dvd, and I think you can find the full movie on youtube.

If you liked Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes (1977)

http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/2/Ope...er=allrovi.com

you ought to get a kick out of Barn of the Naked Dead (1974)

Barn pretty much foreshadows Hills in many ways. Same desert setting, radioactivity/nuclear theme, group of "stranded" people exposed to disfigured cannibalistic killer.
