Batkid Begins
It was a cute event but I think a documentary about it is really pushing it.

The story was cool and uplifting but I do agree that a documentary about the kid seems to be pushing things a bit. I might watch it though just because of all the positive reviews.

It's not a waste of resources. The kid was dying of cancer, and his last wish was to be Batman. It's the whole purpose of the Make-A-Wish Foundation to always grant the wish of a kid who has a terminal medical condition. Although I'm really not sure why this kid has received so much more public attention than any other kid with terminal conditions. That does seem a bit odd.

Fortunately the kid is in remission now though. We might get The Little Dark Knight if he gets sick again.

Yeah, it was a cool story, and glad it happened, I was reading updates and tweets on the day in question. But I don't exactly see people eating popcorn and nachos while watching this.

I thought it was a cool story but it started to border on ridiculous. He got his wish to be Batman and a community rallied around him. But does this really need a documentary, an Oscar bait movie and him being planned to appear at the Oscar's with Andrew Garfiield?

It was basically advertising for Make A Wish. They spent a lot on an elaborate wish to get in front of a lot of eyes to fund the cheaper Disneyworld/meet a baseball player type of wishes.

Why is he going to be at the Oscar's with Spider-Man? Ben Affleck or Christian Bale would make more sense.

I don't begrudge the kid his wish fulfillment, but I do feel bad for the other dying kids who want to be Batman but the best we can do for them is sharing a juice box with Adam West.

The Make A Wish Foundation paid for the $105,000, WB has the rights to Batman so they had to sign off. I doubt they did anything more.
Great story and I am glad the kid is getting better. Plus he could probably come up with a better Batman story than what Nolan gave us in three films.

Nobody is associating this whole Batkid thing with WB, so WB is getting no benefit from it at all. It's not like WB is using this to promote BvS or anything.
