The Dead Lands (from the creators of The Raid)

I did a search and couldn't find a thread on this one. Trailer looks impressive and it is readily available on iTunes and other streaming sources. Shame it's already at that stage as I would have liked to see something like this in a theater. I have heard, however, that there are no subtitles.

And a red band trailer

Hrmmm. That might be pretty cool. They showed what that guy was saying. Though if it doesn't have subtitles as it is intended... might work out or might just fail. I'm interested just cuz it's Maori. Different from the norm, culturally.

Looks a lot like Apocalypto.

I hope these guys figured out what to do between action scenes, both Raid movies were fucking boring when people weren't getting their faces smashed in.

I think you missed a word.

I love The Raid 2. I think it had a damn fine story.

Touche. I reworded and forgot to conjugate.

Even between the mounds of asses kicked, I was pretty interested in what was happening these people out of the violence.

Raid 1 didn't have any part without action that I can remember. The Raid 2 did, and was a better film.

I thought Raid 2 was a much weaker film then the first one. That said, what relation does this movie have with The Raid franchise? I looked up the director, Toa Fraser, and I don't see him having been involved, or the writer Glenn Standring.

Same studio is releasing it. I know that means nothing, but its track record suggests it will be cool.

Here's a link to another movie they released called Tokyo Tribe. Don't know why they haven't at least put it out on BR in the states. Looks cool.

Sony released The Raid films here in the US. XYZ helped produce.

I saw it with subs. It has that Apocalypto vibe and it's a pretty decent movie. If you liked Rapa Nui; you will like this.

This one has subs:

Beth Heke is in this movie and Jake has a new series called Tatau on BBC. The first 2 episodes are decent; gonna stick with since it will be only 8 episodes.

That's a lot different from "creators of The Raid" to me. Maybe i'm just being nitpicky, but to me it has nothing to do with The Raid movies.

I clicked on this thread under false pretenses! :p

hanshotfirst1138 04-20-15 10:51 PM

It doesn't, but it ties into that ever-lovable brand of marketing: "if you liked that, you'll love this!"

It's violent but not even close to what you see in the Raid films.

Yes, it had subtitles. It needs it because there are a couple of sub plots that need explaining. Pictures alone can't explain what's going on.
