Production begins on this today in Japan.

Interesting note: the working title is SHIN GOJIRA, which means NEW or TRUE GODZILLA.

One director did Neon Genesis Evangelion and the other did the Attack on Titan films.

Not sure what I feel about that. I hear the latter sucked hard. I mean, the source material wasn't hot either way but that it sucked harder than the show did. Which I sort of enjoyed.

"Shin Goijra" Plot Samples: The story takes place in modern day Japan that is attacked, and the United States are involved within the chaos.

Hiroki Hasegawa is our male lead character. Hasegawa's role has exactly been cleared up on, but he is a government official who will be dealing with a monster's rampage attack.

Yutaka Takenouchi will also play the role of a government official within an attacked modern day Japan. Joining as a co-star. Takeno states that the 29th Godzilla film, like the 1954 film will be one of the strongest Godzilla films within the series. Potentially the best of all Godzilla films. One with a "deeper message".

Satomi Ishihara plays a US Agent, and the heroine in the movie when swept into the madness.

GODZILLA(2014) has set the height bar at 108 meters, Shin Gojira is expected to exceed that into becoming the largest incarnation of Godzilla.

Executive producer Yamauchi confirms that "Shin Gojira" IS the official movie title.

Behind the title of "Shin Gojira", as the title indicates, "Shin Gojira" is meant to be an expression of bringing the true Godzilla. As this Godzilla will put the fearful "God" rightly in its name. It's not a revival, but more of a declaration.

Anno however states that Shin Gojira also has a variety of meanings, and given that "Shin" is unspecified, then the title has various of meanings.Like "True", "New", or even "God".

Apparently Shin Gojira started Production since August 10th, shooting in the Kanato suburbs, and plans to end at the end of October.

The decision to join Shin Gojira was seemingly a nervous choice, feeling intense pressure given how big of an icon Godzilla is. Ishihara is feeling extreme pressured for having a hefty amount of English dialogue in the script that she has to perform. Claiming it to be very frustrating. Although she did admit to having extreme excitement when given the offer over the phone, saying "Alright!"(Or Okay).

Shin Gojira will release Summer 2016.

Cuz people are shitty to remember how much screen time he has had. I've some criticism at how he handled some G moments but Edwards did well w/ the monster for the most part. He made G a danger. And we got to see him kick Kaiju ass.

I LOVED how he held off on the atomic breath. My theater got a big reaction from it cuz I'm sure before WB's reaction. Most people don't know he can do that or they forgot about it.

The script had issues though. BUT.... I'd like WB and Edwards to learn from their mistakes.

The 2011 Tsunami and nuclear meltdown seems like a perfect place to start with this movie. Too bad they aren't going in that direction.

What do you mean? Most reports have said this is going to be "frightening" and very serious.

Also looks like this will be the first solo outing in 30 years.

Height has been confirmed at 188m, making him the tallest ever.

I'm still iffy on anything G from Toho. Well.. maybe big budget Japanese filmmaking too. Is it a big budget for them? Anyway... I'm not so easily impressed by who these filmmakers are either. Gimme a trailer and I'll start either backing away or jiving w/ it.

My prediction...This will be "ok" to "not that great". It will have all kinds of story issues, sfx issues, acting issues and other problems that would get an American film critically destroyed. BUT...because it's TOHO/Not American it will be praised nonetheless.

I also don't think this film will do much aside from showing G in some "new" way from Toho. I also fear the generic nature of what this could bring based on how Japan has tried to big scale. But... I'm game to see it just to see where it goes.
