I tend to agree. I think they'll replace that challenge with something more "exciting" like the car race. It's a cool bit in the book, but it's not something that translates well to on-screen action or tension.

I've been reading the book and enjoying the hell out of it. I know there is no way this movie will be able to capture the book's way of conveying the nostalgia, but I think it might be pretty good in its own right.

All of the things that people are saying “They show too much of this or that” in the trailers are only spoilers for this of us who read the books. For everyone else, it’s just a mish mash of random bullshit, so they should be fine.
