The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015, D: Francis Lawrence)
After being symbolized as the "Mockingjay", Katniss Everdeen and District 13 engage in an all-out revolution against the autocratic Capitol.
New poster released. Looks the same as all the others teasers.

I'm still holding out hope there's a scene in the movie where Will Smith attempts to save them from the vampires but fails and is killed, at which point Keanu Reeves attempts to save him and District 13.

Am I the only one who didn't love the 1st part of Mockingjay?
Because for me personally, the one element that sets this series apart from all the other YYA dystopian future flicks is the actual Hunger Games portion of the movie. So without it, it just seems...generic.
I'll still watch this one though just to finish the story.

Most of the movie felt like characters sitting around a table waiting for Mockingjay Pt 2 to start.

Yeah, lots more action in part 2. A lot of stuff goes down here.
Was Finnick's wedding to Anna in the book? I don't remember that (but it was years ago when I read it).
Will be nice to see PSH one last time.

It's the bleakest. If it's the worst, it's only marginally the worst of the three. But in any case, there wasn't enough meat there to support two movies from that volume -- it wasn't Deathly Hallows.
The problem with the Katness character especially in book three is that she's so damaged and hostile. Yes, she has every reason in the world to be bitter, hateful and resentful of everyone, but it's hard to sympathize with a character who fights and feuds with everyone (yes literally EVERYONE --except her sister Prim) she comes in contact with. It gets old and it's not any fun.

Part 1 was only half a movie and it was painfully obvious. Looks like they're upping the action quotient in this one. The editing of that teaser will give many people misconceptions.

I watched Part 1 last night, holy crap I think that it was the first ten pages of the book.

They showed this trailer in front of JW and wow does it look awful. It looks like Jennifer Lawrence phoned in her performance.
"Okay, they paid me my millions, let's hurry up and wrap this shit up!"

In the Jurassic World showing I was at, some people actually booed the trailer for this. It looks really dull.

Mockingjay Part 1 was the only one I watched. It wasn't too hard to catch up on everything. I thought it was all solid.
I never read the books. But it played like other Young Adult novels I read when I was younger.
The "boos" that come can be expected with a movie this big. Kind of like how "everyone" hates Michael Bay, and yet "everyone" goes to see his movies. The truth is that there's a very vocal minority at play.

Lawrence isn't bad in the role, and it's fairly complex for a teenage action flick, but there's only so much she can do with it. Mostly she stands around in really tight clothes looking badass with a bow and arrow or cries about her boyfriend. The character as written is deliberately pretty angst and torn, and I think that she conveys that well. Katniss is victim through most of the book, so she spends a lot of time crying.

Rented Part 1 on Amazon last night. I had already seen it, but wife had not. Despite the sudden ending, the movie was still very good, and I am genuinely interested in how the story wraps up.
