Movies with great chemistry between the leads

I was watching Capra's "It Happened One Night" and I was amazed at the great on-screen chemistry between Gable and Colbert, and its weird knowing that both actors where kinda forced to do this film. And Colbert was so displeased by it that even said it was the worst film she ever made and didn't even attend the Oscars (though she won)

In any case what are other films where the chemistry between the leads helped made a movie great, the other example I'm thinking is "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" where Newman and Redford are just great playing of each other

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan in all the X films they're in. On and off the screen. You'd swear they were a gay couple. It is a lot of fun to see them hang out though.

Seth Rogen and James Franco in every film they do together.

The Adjustment Bureau- Matt Damon and Emily Blunt.

Romancing the Stone- Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.

The Predator- Arnold and Carl Weathers, Jesse Ventura and Old Painless

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in anything they do together... Shaun of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, Paul, The World's End, Spaced... and even in real life.

Iron Man films and The Avengers- Downey Jr. and Paltrow

Ellen Burstyn and Jason Miller in The Exorcist. They only have a few scenes together, but when they are the air is literally on fire.

Lord of the Rings. Scene after scene, I swore Sam and Frodo were about to get it on.

Never thought about that but you're right. They're really solid together in their moments.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in the ASM films

Vincent Cassel and Monica Bellucci in whatever they've done together.

Flesh and the Devil, 1926. There's a bedroom scene where Greta Garbo and John Gilbert have that just-fucked body language. I doubt they were acting.

I haven't seen the film yet but IMDB had this....

The first scene between John Gilbert and Greta Garbo, in the train station, was also the first time Gilbert ever saw Garbo. He falls in love on camera, so completely in love that he never went back home to his wife.

Director Clarence Brown was so overawed by the developing romance between Gilbert and Garbo that at the end of one particularly passionate scene he did not even call "cut," instead motioning the lighting and camera crews to stop filming. They withdrew from the set and, after a few hours, had dinner sent in.

It's an odd choice, but I'm going to throw it out there: Channing Tatum and The Rock in GI Joe: Retaliation. They really played off each other well.

Spoiler:
Too bad it's only for a few minutes. The movie really goes down hill after Duke exits. If they do another one (doubtful) maybe they can find a way to bring him back.
