That's a hell of a build up if they're supposed to be in high school again....

ehhhhh. Parker's been popularly surrounded by diverse characters.
Always hated how Robbie was such a background character in Raimi's films. Though he did have some nice revealing aspects to him. Particularly him kind of hinting at the identity of Peter a bit. Not too much but enough to freak out Peter a bit.

I predict that when her role is revealed people will make comments both pro and con!
I'm guessing Black Cat, though.

The BBC (via Empire) has noted that Sony Pictures – which, lest we forget, is now sharing the Spider-Man movie rights with Marvel Studios – has registered the URL SpiderManHomecomingTheMovie.com, suggesting that Spider-Man: Homecoming could in fact be the title of Marvel’s upcoming film reboot. Of course, this is no way guarantees that Homecoming will be part of the full title for the 2017 Spider-Man solo movie. After all, Warner Bros. Pictures registered multiple URLs ahead of announcing the title for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, yet none of them even remotely matched up with the movie’s proper name. That could end up being the case here too, but that doesn’t preclude the possibility that the film will take some cues from the “Homecoming” comic book storyline all the same.

‘Spider-Man’ Reboot to Include Additional Marvel Characters
April 8, 2016 | 01:01PM PT
The upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot will include cameos from other Marvel superheroes, the studio has confirmed.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed to EW that Spidey won’t be the only Marvel regular to make the jump to the Sony pic.
“[Spider-Man] is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth,” said Feige.
Though the plot details of Marvel and Sony’s untitled “Spider-Man” film — which is set for a July 2017 release — are still under wraps, Tom Holland is confirmed to play Spider-Man and Marisa Tomei will star as Aunt May. Though details on her role have not been revealed, Zendaya is also confirmed to star in the actioner.
Directed by Jon Watts, the “Spider-Man” standalone movie will center on a teenage, high school-era Peter Parker. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will write the screenplay, with Feige and Amy Pascal attached to produce the superhero film. Production is scheduled to begin in this summer.
Holland will debut his Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War,” which hits theaters May 6. A recent trailer shows Iron Man calling upon Spidey to use his web shooters against Captain America, implying that Tom Holland’s character is on Team Iron Man in the film.
The yet-to-be-titled “Spider-Man” pic will be the sixth film in the hero’s saga, which has already grossed $4 billion worldwide.

It would be neat if they drew from some of the Netflix series instead of the other movies right away.

That'd be awesome to see Daredevil crossover in the new Spidey film. I have a feeling they'll go with one of the film characters though.

You never know who you'll run into in Vegas. Sometimes the people you run into will have some interesting information. Like about Spider-Man: Homecoming, for instance.
Yes, I was told, that's the title they're working with at the moment. I think it'll be the title. We may even see the title treatment later today, when Sony presents their next year's slate at CinemaCon (which is happening here in Vegas, and is why I'm in Vegas). But what we may not hear officially announced yet is this:
The Vulture will be in this movie. Will he be the main baddie? Will he be a villain Spidey has to defeat in an opening scene? I don't know, although old rumors that passed by my ears indicated a non-main villain role for the old bird.
Sam Raimi had wanted to do the Vulture back when he was running the franchise, but he ended up first getting stuck with Venom and then having the series rebooted out from under him. I wonder how much the inclusion of the Vulture is an eff you to old Avi Arad, the once-producer on the series and a guy who I understand wasn't keen on the character.
The inclusion of the Vulture at all makes me happy. For one thing, I like the idea of a very young Peter Parker going up against a very old Adrian Toomes. I like the Silver Age aspect of this, one of the sillier but also most famous Spider-Man villains. And I like the idea of an aerial foe who will be able to get Spidey swinging and leaping around - if Captain America: Civil War is any indication, Marvel (who is producing the film for Sony) has this aspect of the character nailed.

I've never found the Vulture a very threatening villain. I can't believe he'd be the primary villain. Please bring on Mysterio.

I'd rather have Kraven. Mysterio always seemed lame.
