No more Garfield?

I guess this means Sinister Six isn't going forward.

It's a sure bet that Spidey will appear in Civil War. Great news

The word has been Marvel doesn't want Garfield, which is a shame because he's actually good, but he brings with him the taint of two awful movies.

Kevin Feige is producer, which means creative control. I think we will be okay.

Garfield was the best thing about the last two stinkers. That's a shame.

Maybe they want an older Peter Parker?

This is great news though. So what are they going to call the movie? I'm guessing the Venom and Sinister Six movies are on moratorium at this point?

Now Fox just needs to step up to the plate and work something out with Marvel Studios so they can use the Fantastic Four.

It would never happen, but how hilarious would it be if another reboot was announced before Trank's film was released?

I think they want a younger Peter Parker. Or rather, an younger actor to play Peter Parker.

Re: Spider-Man (Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot) (July 28, 2017)

And yup, looks like some dates shift around now.

http://marvel.com/news/movies/24065/...es_for_4_films

Four future installments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have received new release dates through 2019, including Thor’s next solo adventure as well as the first films for Black Panther, Captain Marvel and the Inhumans!

Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok” will hit theaters November 3, 2017. The following year, Marvel’s “Black Panther” will make its way to theaters on July 6, 2018, and Marvel’s “Captain Marvel” on November 2, 2018. Finally, Marvel’s “Inhumans” will now debut in theaters July 12, 2019.

The previously announced dates for Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2” on May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019, respectively, remain unchanged.

Looks like Spider-Man is going to be up front and center in Civil War now.

Hopefully this doesn't kill the Aunt May prequel movie.

Can Marvel get them to bring J.K. Simmons back?

Re: Spider-Man (Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot) (July 28, 2017)

If Spidey is going to appear in a Marvel movie before appearing in his own in 2017 and the most likely movie being Civil War, then his movie can't be an origin story if the events in the comics is kept.

I just don't want see a third origin story for Spidey...

Re: Spider-Man (Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot) (July 28, 2017)

I'm glad Sony has come around, but it's a shame they made this agreement after producing the shittiest superhero movie outside of Batman & Robin (of course, I'm referring to TASM 2). People bitched about rebooting Spider-Man five years after the last Raimi film... now we'll be seeing another version in 2017? I'm sure the quality of the script will be much improved, but general audiences are bound to be feeling the fatigue -- especially if we get a THIRD Spidey origin film. If he's introduced in Civil War, hopefully we can avoid that entirely.

Pretty sure Kevin Feige can guide them away from doing an origin story.

Would LOL if in the MCU, Peter Parker is already married to Mary-Jane. Guess what comic bitches, the marriage is back on.

Hopefully he'd take out his nose ring first. I'll go with Logan Lerman.
