I heard that Shyamalong-a-ding-dong was devastated that Unbreakable didn't do better at the boxoffice. I think he has been taking out his frustration on the moviegoing public ever since.
Really? Twice in the span of 3 sentence post? Did someone turn the wayback machine to 2001 again?

Lots, but to keep it somewhat current: Edge of Tomorrow, Children of Men, and pretty much everything made by Edgar Wright.

Yeah, I think "jaw-dropping moment" was another duplicate. Don't get me wrong, they're good threads and I applaud the effort to stimulate conversation, but it is kind of funny.

Yeah. I know Tron: Legacy wasn't for everyone, but I've seen worse movies that became huge franchises. I wonder if being a Disney film didn't turn off some amount of the movie going public? The soundtrack alone was worth the price of admission.

Black Dynamite was hilarious. That should have gotten a sequel, not Machete. It actually looked like a film from that era for the most part. Except when Nixon and his wife show up. I'm at least glad we got the animated series.

In The Mouth of Madness was one of the best horror movies I've seen, and the best Lovecraft tribute/adaptation ever. All the quality that went into it, it should have made money.

I thought Anonymous was really good. Great acting by everyone involved, and one of the few period pieces of that era that I liked. Best version of St. Crispin's day speech.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. I loved that movie so much (it was my favorite film of 2007); it killed me that it didn't do better in theaters.

Re: Movies you wish did better?

Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of The Golden Compass but felt like they could have done great things if the franchise continued. They'd have to do a recast obviously since

is now

Feel the same way. And to make matters worse, Narnia got sequels despite not having as good of a cast and effects quality.

Prince Caspian was a step in the right direction for the franchise and I thought it was leaps and bounds better than the first entry, but its poor box office performance and how blah The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was pretty much killed the franchise in a single shot.
