Still seeing it but I think the first trailer was way better. Looks like this is as close to a "Death Dealer" that we are going to get.

Jo Blo started throwing up their 'other video' ads before trailer is over. Annoying.

Anyone go to the screening last night?

I had a ticket but decided to bail. I don't really have any interest in this to begin with. And dealing with those free screenings for a bigger movie can be a hassle. It would've been a 4 hour process.

That is pretty much it. Who did they make this for? There is no way this does not bomb.

Every 10 years Hollywood need to make a big budget King Arthur movie to remind everyone that no one cares about King Arthur.

Yeah, I decided not to go, because it would have been a pain in the ass. My nearest AMC is at a mall and I would have had to drive against traffic just to see if I was lucky enough to get in. I'm not a fan of AMC anyway. I did buy my ticket for an ArcLight screening when it comes out, though. Less hassle going to my local ArcLight theater anyway.

I had 2 tickets, but stuff happened at work and I got out at 7pm when the movie was supposed to start. Cie la vie.

If Hunnam rides his steed into a semi, arms wide open, and the driver yells "Jesus Christ!", then I will be happy.

And five years after that, we'll get a Robin Hood movie that can't even meet the low standard set by Prince of Thieves.

A big problem for me is these movies are always so gloomy looking. Yeah, they didn't have electric lights in the Middle Ages, but they had sunny days. You can have people walking around in bright light with lush green backgrounds.

Re: King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017, D: Ritchie A: Hunnam, Law)

It's not nearly that bad - it is typical Guy Ritchie - the characters are fast talking thugs with a certain drunken pub patron charm to them. It has some decent action scenes but a heavy reliance on CG gives a bunch of the action a 'video game' cut scene feel but I was entertained. The supporting cast is good (Djimon, Little Finger etc. ) but Jude Law and Bana are both completely wasted and it's a VERY loose retelling of Arthur's origins... but Hunnam was fine, the music was excellent and I had a good time for 2 hours that flew by. Not going to be on any 'best of the year' lists but not half bad. 3/5
