So would Bronson or Norris have played Spider-Man?

You can live in that alternate universe and I will live in the alternate universe where Kubrick''s Napoleon, David Lean's Nostromo and Del Toro's At the Mountains of Madness were made.

Correct....Cannon was one of the film companies responsible for making the 80's the worst decade for American film. However nostalgia continues to cloud people's critical evaluation about some of the crap that was made.

Re: Cannon Films - The Lost movies (Never got filmed, but were planned)

Cannon planned Joe II, a sequel to the 1970 Peter Boyle hating-hippies flick. A logo for it appeared in a 60 Minutes piece on Cannon Films.

Some additional info from IMDB:
Peter Boyle wrote a screenplay for a proposed sequel where Joe gets released from jail and has to deal with his hippie-like son. In the '80s, Cannon Pictures kept announcing each year for several years that the project was in "pre-production", though the project was ultimately scrapped.

*Shudder*

Thanks for bringing up that repressed memory. I thought that movie was in the "planned but never made" category until your post.

I think we all know Cannon was pure B grade, put it was for the most part fun B grade cheese. American Ninja is still a real favourite of mine.

Re: Cannon Films - The Lost movies (Never got filmed, but were planned)

Is this the same studio that James Cameron wanted to do Spider-Man after his successful Aliens? I remember watching an interview with Stan Lee on tv long ago and said he was excited that James Cameron might be directing, but some reason it never happen. Would like to see how Cameron could pull thru with Spider-Man on the big screen that time.

And it had Lawrence Tierney's best late-career role until RESERVOIR DOGS.

No that was Sony. Cannon lost the rights to Spiderman in the early 90's around the time they lost the Masters of the Universe rights for non-payment to the rights holders.

Man, I would love for someone to do an updated Cannon films book to go with the documentary that I'm anxiously awaiting.

I think Dutch Treat is the final version of Give A Girl A Break, it has the Dolly Dots in it.
