I'm sorry but exactly what vibe are they going for with what I thought was supposed to be the strongest character in the marvel universe? is this another comedy like Thor??? I don't read the comics but this looks odd at best to me.

I think the TV spots have helped me get more hyped. Still a not sure on all her delivery but the last line "I'm kinda done with you telling me what to do" was the best

Every Marvel movie has some level of humor. The vibe i get from her is she is a smart-ass - that seems like a smart-ass response to a Skrull yelling in your face.

agree i think smart-ass is the vibe i'm getting too. Is the script written that way? or is she playing it that way i don't know

Got my ticket for the fan event on the 7th. Been going that way the last few movies and enjoy the experience.

Speaking as someone who has read the collected comics, I can attest that Captain Marvel is a bit of a smart ass and they are just being faithful to the character. Only problem is that pushing a smart ass woman might be a turn off for a lot of men, and let's be honest, men are the target demographic for the MCU.

There's already some weirdness going on with the pre reviews, where people who have had no way to see the movie are posting terrible reviews based on Brie trying to get some variety in ethnicity and gender of reviewers. In my mind, those are the people who are going to be turned off by a "smart ass woman" the same way I'm sure some people were turned off by the cast of Black Panther. Oh well.

I'm sure it's a fine movie but I haven't trusted a review from a verified Twitter account in years, especially a review of an advance screening. Seems like its mostly journalists, influencers, or other people in the media posting these early reviews, and it's in their best interest to be have a positive reaction if they want to get invited to the next premier.

"Hey guys! What's up? So I just got back from Movie. Movie is a movie about things that happen to a Character. Lots of things happen so I'm going to explain 50% of the plot to you now, spoiler free! (*winks at camera*). it leads to a big finale which is also a thing that happens in Movie. The special effects were excellent especially in some of the larger set pieces. Movie was beautifully shot. Such good cinematography in Movie. The acting is pretty good for the most part, for a Genre, but I think Movie is kind of pandering to Group a little bit, but luckily it doesn't make me think hard enough to question my own mortal existence and position in this world talking to a camera with all my toys strategically positioned behind me for Maximum Geek Cred, so it was enjoyable! The ending of Movie wasn't amazing, but it leaves the story open for Movie 2: Movie harder. I recommend it! Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe!"
