Those that frequent Alamo Drafthouse might notice there's a few new items inspired by the movie on their menu. It's Ethiopian food and looks really good. It says available at certain locations.

I have to believe that you used a mobile device to post this reply because I assume you meant to say "if they say anything negative about this movie the PC crowd will go nuts," or something like what I just wrote.

I get the vibe that you believe that all the positive reviews are coming from folks scared of Disney blackballing them from future advance screenings of their films...oh wait, that actually already happened to the L.A. Times and a whole ton of reviewers told Disney to eat a bag of wieners and the negative publicity this brought Disney caused them to quickly change their mind and not blackball any reviewer who was not a fan of their films (regardless of whether or not the film is part of the MCEU, Star Wars Universe, Pixarverse, etc.).

ETA: I misremembered, Disney was ticked at the L.A. Times coverage of a story regarding the relationship between Disney and Anaheim, but my larger point stands, they did try to blackball the L.A. Times and fellow journalists did band together to tell Disney to pound sand.

And then there's the one guy. Down to 99% on Rotten Tomatoes now.

See I told you it was going to suck. I'm not going now.

Actually with all these stellar reviews I went from doubting I would see it theatrically to being excited about seeing it.

My wife though has total super-hero fatigue. If I put one in she'll go upstairs. If I mention a new one in the theater she'll say go have fun.

Now down to 98%...I will not be surprised if it falls to 92-94% by critics when the flood of reviews hits next week, even discounting troll reviews or ones that clearly sound like they came from the alt-right I still think it will drop, with an admittedly remote but real possibility it drops into the high 80s.

I'm bummed to read that apparently the action is the weakest part of the movie

Being an origin story they tend to be a tad light on the action. I know the first Captain America took a while to get going. I'll be going next Monday or Tuesday.

It is so absurd that jerkoffs have tanked the IMDb score on this to a 6.6, with most scores being either a "1" or a "10". Like, who really gives this much of a shit about something so trivial?

It's not the amount of action that's being criticized, it's the quality of it. Subpar CGI and direction.

I would chalk this up to Coogler not having much experience with big budget FX and how to work with them. The fight scenes in Creed were great, but there's a world of difference between shooting boxing and a super hero fight.

The IMDB reviews are the same way; either a 1 or a 10, and very little reasoning behind the numbers.

Because You, Me, And Dupree was prerequiste to directing The Winter Soldier?

Ah. I forgot about the holiday and just saw the headline. It seems it is for four. I wouldn’t be shocked if this surpasses all estimates though.

That’s impressive regardless if it’s three days or four days.
