Very possible.

Makes sense. And the editor can't say anything or he'll be in violation of an agreement.

Regardless, glad to see it's not gone. Like many of you, it's my go-to site for looking up box office take (past and present).

Sounds about right to me.

UGH! They changed their interface and I hate it!! Gone are the Worldwide Grosses. Still looking around to see what else is missing. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old look. This new one is ugly. I sent an e-mail to complain. If you agree, please do the same. Click on "Help" at the bottom. I used my Amazon account to log in. This was the direct link I used: https://help.imdb.com/contact

It's "cleaner" and more in line with the overall IMDB look-and-feel, but it's much less intuitive.

It's a shame, I always used the inflation option to do a direct comparison with box office results in today's dollars. I don't mind the paywall so much as how expensive IMDb Pro is.

You can still see worldwide grosses. Select a movie and change it from domestic to all territories. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/releas.../gr2536985093/

Sorry, I meant to say for this and every year. Not listed by country. It had both domestic and foreign grosses side by side and their total worldwide gross for movies released that year.

So IMDB (essentially, Amazon) has owned this site since 2014 - why make the change now? My only guess is to make things more presentable for mobile and iPad users, but I hate that I have to make a bunch of clicks to get to the info I want where, previously, one (or two) clicks would have gotten me there.

Well, I guess there's still www.the-numbers.com.

Re: RIP Box Office Mojo

I just noticed the change after being too busy to visit the site in a month. Originally I'd get my info from Boxofficeguru, but switched to Mojo because they were quicker at posting totals and their site was easier to navigate and offered more analysis based off of different criteria. I don't think there's that many that are going to be willing to pay $19.99 a month for access to this site. Most were probably just casual visitors to the site. If it's owned by Amazon, they should make it a perk for Prime members. They will likely gain more revenue from new members that way then the $20 they will receive from subscribers to a lone site. A number of people can just band together and share a membership if they truly need the info for any research purposes. What are the next best alternatives? There's Boxofficeguru and Boxoffice.com. Anything else out there comparable?

Re: RIP Box Office Mojo

Well, IMDb just destroyed this site. It's ghastly and much of the granular content is now hidden behind an IMDb Pro paywall.

So... rather than dwell on this loss I'm just gonna say The Numbers is now the site to visit and farewell BOM.

Re: RIP Box Office Mojo

I noticed The Numbers site has a "Welcome New Readers!" message saying they've seen an increase of readers last few days.

It looks like aren't showing a movie's budget anymore. I'm always interested to see if a movie has at least made back its production budget.

If you click the "Title Summary" tab, it should be in there.

Found it. Thanks. They have just made things way too complicated now.

I took a look at the new update

Aside from looking up the weekend box office and international box office, I don't see much else that I actually need for informational purposes.

Unless you're a professional in the industry or a movie pundit with a blog or YouTube channel, all the basic stuff for the casual fan is still there.

I always liked looking at the box office history for an actor or director, that's now behind the paywall.

Yup. Or even clicking on a specific studio to see their slate is behind IMDbPro.
