I think it was "All Crime, Including Murder, is legal for 12 hours."
Murder is the most 'final' of crimes, but there's definitely opportunity for other crimes. There was sort of a 'most dangerous game' thing in 2, but that was another way to murder.
I'll watch this one, I like the concept and I liked 2 better than 1 (and I didn't dislike 1).

Thinking about catching a matinee on Friday.
Probably for most in this forum, this movie is probably something that isn't must see in the theater.

I'll see this but for Grillo only. The idea could make a nice visual and all that but I still am not sold on the execution of it. Granted... I only saw 2.
2 teased too much of Grillo being a badass and all we got wasn't so much of that. I wanted what that trailer teased us of Grillo.

Saw it. Was a fine continuation. I preferred the second one. I haven't seen Elizabeth Mitchell in anything in a while. And then this and Dead of Summer all in one week. She looks like she maybe has had some work done... but still looks good.

I enjoyed the last two for what they were, I'll catch this on DVD.

I thought this was great - good suspense, nice action and Grillo kicking ass. Good cast all around, likeable characters and the most interesting plot make this one my favourite of the franchise.

Caught a matinee today.
If this is indeed the last film in the series, it makes a pretty good final chapter.
I think it's my 2nd favorite film in the series behind the 2nd one. Some good suspense and action. It's not for the squeamish. There are some pretty hardcore and violent murder scenes, so if that's something that you don't enjoy, this movie probably isn't for you. It's a sequel, but it's plot does standalone enough where you don't necessarily have to have seen the 1st 2 movies.
Grillo was badass. I liked that they brought him back along with Edwin Hodge, who was in the first 2 movies, to keep some continuity in the series.
Mitchell was good as the Presidential candidate. She still looks very good for being in her mid 40's. Kyle Secor was great as the lunatic minister/her opposition. He usually works in TV and always plays some kind of noble nice guy. Good to see him do something out of character.
Not sure how they would do a 4th movie considering how it ended.

I thought the set up for the fourth movie was pretty apparent.

I had a great packed crowd, and just loved the hell out of this movie. It sort of skirted all genres, but did them all very well. It's my favorite of the series so far, which says something as I really enjoyed Anarchy too.
On another note, security was tight as hell at the door. It kind of alarmed me, like do they know something I dont? I had never seen anything like it at this particular theater before.

When my son and I were leaving The Shallows last night, the doors were just opening for this one. There were actually theater employees checking tickets at the door, making sure no one was trying to sneak in. Not quite the same, but still really odd considering there are very rarely any sort of employee presence in the main hall.

It would be amusing to show news snippets with random stuff like weirdos using the chance to spray paint makeup on Mt. Rushmore or something.

Some pictures I took back in October around the main location where they filmed here; the deli and street were featured prominently. The church where the finale takes place is also located here, but I didn't get any pics of the inside.
Saw this earlier today, and really liked it. The action and suspense were well done, and the cast were all solid. I'd say that it is my favorite of the series to date.

I thought this was ok. I preferred Anarchy better. The best part of Anarchy was the character arch of Frank Grillos character and seeing how rich people celebrate The Purge. It's nice to have Grillo back, but just seeing him protect Elizabeth Mitchell wasn't as interesting as I would like it to be. I also think they need to slow down some of the crazy camera angles and editing as now it almost comes across like a parody.
On that note though, I'd be down for a part 4 if it comes about.

Yeah, just watched this one and looks like Anarchy is the best of the trilogy, which isn't saying much. I sort of get tired of characters that purge and how whacky and crazy they like to act. The candy girl was fucking stupid - that whole subplot was dumb as fuck.
And of course in the end the
Typical.
I don't know - I do dig the concept but there's so much depth and focus that is missing. It all still feels small scale even after 3 films. I did like that they expanded the purge rules and let visiting folks from other countries participate, but that was roughly 5 minutes worth before the film moved on.

I think the audience I saw it with tonight felt the same way because everyone went nuts for
I enjoyed this film but I'm not sure yet if I like this more than Anarchy (as others have mentioned). Grillo is great in this and overall I liked the traveling group more than the traveling group in Anarchy but I felt that Anarchy felt a little 'bigger' in scope than Election Year.
The only issues I had with it were some random characters and really slow pacing right before the final act.
