Well Hollywood had nothing to do with the scripting. That was Miller and Rodriguez.

I really think the only reason for the JGL segment is to give Roark something bad to do in this movie to make him look despicable before

Damn, I planned to see this today, but my local theater has already cut all the early showings.

I saw it last night in an otherwise empty theater. I really enjoyed it. Maybe that's because y'all set my expectations very low . Eva was great for several reasons, and while shoehorning Marv in that much did over utilize the character, I still enjoyed him every time. Alba was a bit of a weak point, but she seemed better than in the first. Maybe it's because she has hones her craft, or maybe it's because she's in this one less than the first.

Caught this today.
Enjoyable. Worth the watch.
I lol'd when Christopher Lloyd shot up before doing surgery. The whole scene was the best light scene.
Just seeing Christopher Lloyd in a movie was a treat.
Eva Green's bewbs were great.
Marv being a brute is good to watch.
When looking for a good movie, I look for strong moments. It just takes that moment or two to fondly remember a film. Lots of good moments. No moments as strong as Hartigan offing himself at the end of the first.
Before reading earlier comments, I thought these characters live and die. I wasn't looking for continuity.

I thought it was terrible and a total waste of time. Instead of stylized it just seemed cheap to me and had the worst dialogue of any movie I've seen this year.
Afterwards, a friend and I were discussing it and trying to come up with just one positive thing to say about it. We both really struggled. I eventually remembered one scene that was "mostly okay".
My feelings mostly ranged from rolling my eyes, being bored, and openly laughing at how stupid some parts of the movie were. The other 3 people in the movie must have agreed with me, as they also laughed (out loud) and things that weren't supposed to be funny.
I'm not sure Frank Miller is capable of making anything that isn't just cringe-worthy awful anymore. Even as a comic nerd I've always felt he was a little overly praised. This film did nothing to improve his reputation for me.
If it wasn't for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 this would be my least favorite movie that I've seen in theaters this year.

Saw it. I thought it was okay, but not on the level of the first one. I think the main weakness was trying to do more original material than what already existed. Of course Eve Green's scenes alone guarantee I will be buying the BR, but that's for personal reasons. Rourke rocked as Marv, which I knew he would, and I thought the 3D was effective for the most part. However, the JGL and Alba bits seemed pointless. Doesn't the outcome of the Alba story kind of contradict later stories? Also , I had a real problem with
I think the reason this installment bombed had more to do with the amount of time that elapsed from the first. The time to make this was about six years ago, not now.

I saw a clip on youtube, "Marv Kills" and it looks pretty bad. It looks really cheesy, more in line with the 60s Batman television series. I was expecting "Bam!" "Pow!" to appear on screen.
The makeup of Mickey Rourke for Marv doesn't look as good this time around. He looks kinda like Jay Leno, or one of the gangsters from Dick Tracy.

I think he just got fat. To some degree. He looks thicker. He was in great shape in that The forst one. This film was just lazy.
Saying that... It totally used every cent they paid Eva Green for.

Finished watching this last night. Like a lot of others here, I thought it was just alright. Nothing memorable.
All the re-castings were a bit distracting. The first film took all of the strongest material in the entire series, which is one of the reasons why it plays like a much stronger film. This film takes from the weakest material of the series with the addition of some very average new stories from Miller.
The JGL story was alright. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. I found myself not caring about the Nancy story, other than it was a reason for
While the stylized violence is always fun to watch, that's really all that this film has going for it.
I also agree with everyone else here when mentioning that Marv's make-up seemed off. Even with the bandages it didn't look right. To be perfect honestly, a lot of the characters didn't look right in this film.
