Giving this a bump for the release this week.
I will definitely be skipping this in the theatre. Not interested without Statham. Doesn't look good either way.

It was fun though unlike the second.
I love how the actor on the poster is angled in such a way that a passing glance might mistake him for Statham.

I'm about half way through S1 of the TV series on Netflix. It's actually pretty entertaining. I wonder why they didn't go with Chris Vance for this movie?

Rented this on Amazon video the other day with a free video credit.
Looks like nobody bothered watching this since it opened in the Fall.
Anyways, I'll share a few thoughts.
Overall, it sucked.
The casting of Ed Skrein as Frank Martin killed this for me. He is not Frank Martin. To me he was more like Frank Martin's snot nosed little brother trying to impersonate him. Simply did not have the gravitas that the character had in the previous movies. If they thought Skrein was their guy to re-launch the series, they were sadly mistaken.
Only positives I can think of:
The women on this were so much hotter than the previous movie. Hated the Euro trash chick in Transporter 3.
Also, beautiful French Riviera scenics.
For anyone curious, this was not a prequel. Takes place around 2010-ish.
If Luc Besson somehow convinces the French production company that there's another Transporter movie possible, he IMO should ret-con this movie and make every attempt to bring back Statham.
Luc Besson is IMO the epitome of filmmaker who has totally mailed it in and is just cashing in paychecks. His writing/producing projects have gotten worse year after year.
If you want to see a better non-Statham version of Frank Martin, watch the TV series on Netflix. Chris Vance is no Statham, but he did a pretty good job on the show and is far more believable than Skrein.

I saw it a couple weeks back and agreed, it sucked. I have no idea why it takes place in 2010, as I think they are using 2014/15 tech and I think the Audis are 2015's as well...

I think Besson writes skeleton scripts so directors can attempt to up their resume, unfortunately most of the directors are lacking.
