Probably not a surprise that the Funko POP Groot is the #1 best selling action figure on Amazon right now. With Rocket #2.

No shame. I am a 55-year-old grandfather, and I will buy the dancing sapling the moment it becomes available...

Yes, I'm one of the guys who voted 3 1/2 stars. I enjoyed the movie, but it's nothing groundbreaking - it's just a lot of fun. It doesn't hold a candle to the X-Men film we saw this summer, but it's certainly one of the better pieces of entertainment we've gotten in 2014.

Only concern I would have had was the "Pollock" joke, if she asks you to explain it, plus the way d**k is used a few times (for comic effect). Other than that, there's a bit of alien blood spilled, and a lot of Star Wars-style deaths.

Wondering what kind of movie would be appropriate for a 13-year-old boy but not a 13-year-old girl?

My boys have grown up around video games, comic book movies, comedy central shows, cartoon network etc. My nieces have pretty strict parents. No cartoon network only Nick. And PG-13 movies, in the past have been off limits. I think a few swear words should be fine as long as there is not a lot of sexually related material or constant F-bombs.
So its less about boys vs. girls and more about my boys and my nieces.

For me: six times for Star Wars. I had friends who saw it more than twenty times each. That was in the days before home theater and VCRs, so it was see it in the theater or wait for it to hit NTSC TV all chopped up with commercials (and Lucas didn't allow that for many years, although we didn't know it at the time). Popular movies tended to have long runs in those days. The sixth time I saw the movie was more than six months after it opened (to long lines at the theater, by the way). It is hard to describe what a phenomenon that movie was to those who weren't there. The movie even got a cover story from Time Magazine.

I saw Fellowship of the Ring 5 times in the theater. This one may break that. Twice so far with an IMAX viewing coming Friday.

Okay. Wife has decided she wants to see this today, before she goes to work tomorrow. So I guess it's gonna gross about $94,000,020 domestic now....

I believe I saw Jurassic Park 8 times in the theater, but I saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch over 20 times.

If the guy had been talking the whole time, I'd agree. But some people get caught up in a moment. Doesn't make him a loser.

If they can't control their behavior then they are. Hey, folks can clap and whatnot, but when the douche physically gets up and screams and yells FUCK YEAH in a crowded theater? Sit the fuck down and shut up.

Hey, that's kind of neat---Matthew Chmiel and Supermallet happened to be sitting right next to each other in the theater.
